So for me,a good buffet starts with a price that is fair. Next it’s more about the variety available and stock of the buffet bar. The price of products.should match the quality and I would say fair but they have raised price In last year as well with no show for the extra.
The place is extremely outdated snd bare minimum goes to frills of any sort or maintenance of the current dining room. I am looking to eat and so I can look beyond certain thing for quite awhile. but even being a girl on a budget I can pull off some ghetto fabulous in a pinch . They are not trying to make lasting impressions. They’ve missed the mark on antique, vintage or nastalgic.
Even To end up more Americana for a short term to avoid cheesy ethnic flair in decorum...far better than complete oblivion. Given last 12 months I’ve watched so lacking a single progessive attempt.
To update or even fluff the place with some color...even piece by piece decorating, done in small adjustments at wise pricing towards a shift in Surroundings would change the whole vibe of the place. And in any public business I think that it’s important and appreciated to regulars and guests alike to see action towards improvements are being made. Again I eat there quite often but honestly,if I am trying to Make a lasting impression on someone I might opt not for this place.
Example of wear is based on the booth bench is void of any cushion. I sometimes fall deeper than history taught one to expect when Sitting in a booth. It bas the missing cushion initial free fall into a solid thud as ur nestled into the groove of many years of many buns. Hmmmm, and I’m not sure if there is a bathroom.
The bar is standard issue buffet style with sneeze guards at a perfect protective but allowing reachroom height.
Now I love desserts so excuse the sidenote im giving here to try and assist the need. Involve ur community if I need to!! ....I would opt to go all out snd kill it on maybe 3 specialty desserts . Let them become ur signature deserts. Allow urself to be a go to hub and be a mark for folks to come by and grab to go deserts. Be known by locals for the one amazing dish that we can’t pronounce. One that we can’t speak of by name it’s so native but it’s that good that when I mention Yangs and dessert everyone knows what Im talkin about and their eyebrows Say it all lol. If it’s amazing desert..I’m in. Now jello doesn’t speak to me.
Jello cubes are a hospital and care facility staple. Big flair in small steps. Ask around and test some stuff. Market the taste n let ur mouth vote event. Plan a whole event and invite opinions from the masses that will be eating there. Possibly more prep time involved but surely there is a middle ground? something easy to store for keeping until use and offer portions on buffet maybe also sale family size options for consumers to buy!!? preorder for parties etc??
I wish U knew the Gift u gave me watching a a sincere child like excitement i had never seen in him before. Currently there is not much by way of deserts so he feels he hit the jackpot locating 3 flavors of ice cream. Far off Location of freezer made him question if was meant for customers. Told him safely assume by size alone of the vats of each flavor he can indulge despite the deep freeze location
it appears Yangs once offered cook to order but it hasn’t been active in recent months. Close to work and home I have been in to take food and dine in several times. Mask rule in strict effect. The staff here get u seated right away. There is no delay in drink delivery and they are always offering refills.
Sadly stuffy professionalism they have, but there is no interaction beyond the drink and the cashier services.
An extremely consistent menu unless u land late in day. Told they would be making more yet they didn’t . Nothing salad beyond dressing. Maybe 10 Shreds of lettuce The egg drop soup was horrible but love the sushi. Glad to have wasabi returned after COVID cut backs. Had hoped the staffs passion to be there would be sparked...
Read moreWe go here once or twice every month or so. The food is great & the staff is very efficient & professional. I do not recommend going after 5pm as they like to slowly stop putting out food which can turn the buffet into a battle ground of dine in vs to go customers. Dine in customers can be very rude some times when they think you're going to take all their favorite foods🤦♀️.( We once had to wait 40 minutes for our to go boxes so the buffet could be refilled because dine in customers swarmed everything once they saw to go customers come in, as if they wouldn't be there for the next fill & we were even cussed at by some dine in customers 😮💨🙄). Lunch time is definitely the best time to go between 11am-1pm. That's when everything is most filled & freshest! We highly recommend the cooked...
Read moreWaitress was eating and picking her teeth with her finger; handling dirty plates from other tables. I had been waiting for a refill on my beverage and she finally noticed my empty glass after she had another bite . I politely stated I would like a refill but only after you have washed your hands. At that point the more I thought about it the more I lost my appetite didn't bother to try to get any more food or dessert or anything. Paid my bill on left I did say something to the what I think was a manager or partial owner at the front, but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. Very lackluster dress code for employees and definitely these habits probably happened there every day. Will never return to this restaurant, after what I saw can't say that I would recommend it for anybody...
