If you’re looking for a new BBQ place, do NOT go here. I paid $50 for 2 pulled pork sandwiches, fries, a side of coleslaw, side of potato salad, and a rack of ribs. I placed my order around 2, they said it would be ready, 30-45 mins from when I placed it.
I picked up my order around 2:35ish, and once I got home, I was very disappointed when I opened the containers. The pulled pork sandwiches are on bulky rolls. The buns aren’t toasted, or at least thrown on the grill, for a nice, buttery crisp. Looks like they just threw the pulled pork on the bread. They also put the BBQ sauce on the side, not marinated in the pork. I can see why, the buns they use are so cheap, the bread would be soggy. The fries are tasteless, and are cold, and soggy. The ribs? Dry as a desert. The only good thing about them, is the crust on the top. Salty as hell, but it’s crispy. The only half way decent things are the slaw and potato salad.
My first time here, definitely will not be...
Read moreVery clean .. Good environment .. Nice staff .. Fairly priced .. Pulled pork and chicken - honestly - lack flavor ... Brisket was eh .. Baby backs would've bordered on great if not for the crazy superfluity of salt .. Their sauces, which they seem wholly proud of, lack any semblance of creativity. Adding the unimaginative "carolina [whatever]" to one's food is akin to simply dousing it with yellow mustard. Two other sauces are mostly vinegar and a third sauce has vinegar in its name. Only their Angry Peach sauce offered a pleasant, interesting taste. Their regular house bbq is much like a pepperier Sweet Baby Ray's. Overall, sauces are a miss. Sides were ok; but i dont darken the doorway of a bbq joint for the sides. I wanted this place to be a gem because it is close to home. I would still be a customer of Chubbs but not a frequent one. Overall, its good .. Worth the visit ... Your palate might appreciate their BBQ more than mine so definitely give them...
Read moreI just discovered this restaurant today. I love BBQ and have had it all over the US. But I must say this is probably some of the best sliced brisket I have had in a long time. And I love I don't have to go to Texas for it. Lol The brisket was very tender and moist with a lovely bark. Didn't need a knife to cut it. The Carolina gold sauce was excellent too! But there were many more BBQ sauces to choose from. I got the meal and it came with 2 sides and I chose Mac and cheese and potato salad. Both were ok. The potato salad could have used a smidge more seasoning. I also got a giant piece of corn bread and a peanut butter cookie that is the size of my face! The service was very friendly, thorough and accommodating. The atmosphere is nice too with plenty of seating. The music is fitting as well. I would definitely recommend trying this place especially if you enjoy brisket. Thank you for a...
