My family has been dining at Olgas since the 1970s. My mother went to high school with Olga at Hazel Park High. It was always one of our favorite places but we will not be returning. We came to the Auburn Hills location on a Tuesday night. There were only 8 tables of customers and quite a lot of staff. It took them 10 minutes for someone to seat us. We sat there for another 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. It was a waitress who had another section but she said she would tell our server and she brought us drinks. After another 15 minutes my husband finally approached the manager and explained how we had been sitting there for at least 30 minutes and had not been asked for our order. She said she was sorry but they had a new system for the wait staff and it was a little confusing. She turned her back on my husband and went into the kitchen. Finally a wait person came over and took our order. He kept coming by and telling us that our food would be coming up soon. By now another 25 minutes had passed. People who came in quite awhile after we did had gotten their food. We finally got up and told the manager that we had been there for over an hour with nothing but 2 diet cokes. She looked at us and said sorry but offered nothing else. She treated us as if we were a bother to her. It is sad to see what has happened to a once great Michigan chain. I noticed that a lot of other reviewers had the same type of experience...
Read moreA group of 9 of us came in for lunch during a break from a local training. The hostess was polite and immediately started getting a table ready. Once we were seated our drink order was taken and then things went down hill. There was a large commotion in the kitchen area and an employee stormed out. This included yelling, cursing and possible things being thrown. After that, our food started getting delivered one person at a time. One of the members of our party didn’t even receive 2 of the 3 items she ordered and had to have it put in a to go container. During our visit, when we asked for a refill or anything the waitress was rude and stated “I am 6 months pregnant, and I am the only person working”. The business was not that busy and we simply asked for refills. Then when our check was delivered, it was not asked if we wanted it separated or in one. So when we went to check out we had to request it was separated so we could all pay. The waitress was then called up and as we told her what our orders were she would cash us out. Many people did not leave a tip and then the waitress said “welp that was a waste of time. They are all mad and now won’t leave me a tip. But that’s ok I don’t forget a face”! My specific order was 10.58 (smacked basket and a Pepsi). I paid and selected no tip. The following day I received a notice my total was changed on my credit card to 12.58 which was not authorized.
We visited on 3/11/25 -...
Read moreNormally I wouldn't be petty about restaurant reviews, but I felt mildly irritated by this. I'm not from the area and Olga's seemed to be the best choice available. The host was great, very kind and polite. The waitress was some what pleasant. My boyfriend and I ordered separate endless snackers with soup and salad and our order was sent out. The waitress came back with one tray of snackers and one bowl of salad. Slightly confused I waited patiently to see when my food order was coming, but it never did until I got the attention from the waitress. I asked confused if another tray of snackers was coming out and she kind of gave me this weird look but grabbed some for me. The soups took about 15 minutes for them to come out, which was fine. When the bill came of course it was 2 separate orders and that wasnt the problem. The problem is charging for two meals when the waitress brought out one meal and acted like I was being petty and rude for asking for my food. I've been to an Olga's a few times before and I've never had a waitress not bring out my food. This review is just an fyi to the people working there that when your customers order two separate meals, it means they are separate from each other. If we wanted to split the meal then we would have said so, please...
