IF YOU HAVE ANY FOOD ALLERGIES, DO NOT EAT HERE. THEY BLATANTLY LIED AND DISRESPECTED A NUT ALLERGY.
Long story short, we clearly communicated a nut allergy, were suggested a dish that was supposedly nut free, but received a dish clearly made with nuts. Our server denied any nuts in the dish after the fact, and my partner nearly had to go to the hospital shortly after we left. We requested a call back from management and have not been contacted for a week. Full story ahead, if you care for the details.

I am from an area with a primarily Indian immigrants as the "minority majority" - needless to say, I grew up eating a lot of very good Indian food, and this place fits my tastes quite nicely. My parents came to visit from out of state and we wanted to show them how delicious this place was; in a seemingly otherwise empty area, there was our "hidden gem" of sorts to share.
We went to eat here last week, and as usual, my partner told the server he had a nut allergy. Our server (who was not someone I had seen before - I am certainly not a regular, but we've been there several times, and seen many repeat faces) suggested a new entree they had, and assured us it did not have any nuts. No big deal, right? Well, once he started to eat, he quickly had a reaction, which admittedly he was unsure of the cause (swollen lips and bad stomach ache, whether or not it was nuts or just the spice from the food). He ultimately did not end up eating the rest, and when the bill came, he asked our waiter again about the nuts, who assured us we were in the clear. We thought little of it and went on our way out.
Less than 10 minutes after we left, my boyfriend began to throw up several times. He did not have an EpiPen available and kept throwing up the Benadryl he'd taken, trying to curb the allergy. We were very fortunate that we ended up not having to take him to the hospital. He was understandably VERY upset. This was not a contact allergy from a kitchen mishap - he is very familiar with what that feels like - this was a case of his dish was cooked with nuts, after he had told our server about his allergy. He was able to eventually take some medication to ease the reaction, thankfully. We wanted to call the restaurant that evening, but decided it would be better to wait until the following day, so he could focus on recovery.
He waited until 1:30pm the next day to call, to allow the lunch rush to die down a bit, and so he could have the manager's attention. The manager was not available and we were told we'd be receiving a call back. It has now been a FULL WEEK and we have received ZERO contact. If they cared about keeping long term business, you think they would act better. This type of service is not only a poor excuse, it is blatantly disrespectful to your customers. I had thought better of Rangoli, but after this, I would never suggest anyone go there. There's a fine but distinct difference between poor service and poor management. Unfortunately it seems this...
Read moreHave heard nothing but rave reviews about this place and my husband and I have really been wanting to come here to check out the food. We finally made it in for lunch and we didn’t know if we wanted to order off the menu or hit the buffet. So we got up and wanted to see what the buffet had to offer. The buffet looked beautiful, the food looked fresh and hot, And the service seemed friendly. Just before leaving the buffet my husband called me over, and he wanted to show me the cockroaches crawling all over the white linen underneath all of the chaffing dishes. And he said “alright time to go!”
My husband and I work in restaurants —-very busy restaurants—and have been in the service industry for years in urban environments as well as private buildings. Neither of us have ever seen a roach in the basement of an establishment and especially not where food is being served and consumed. Mind you this was at 11:30 in the morning in broad daylight. If these roaches are out in the day with many people around they have a giant infestation. They absolutely know they have roaches if they’re crawling around their buffet table.
I didn’t want to cause a scene but on my way out the host was upset we were leaving and asked why. I told her that there were roaches crawling around her entire buffet and she seemed shocked. But did show concern. Even still. DO NOT EAT HERE. Roaches were crawling all over the entirety of the buffet. From the linen, to the serving spoons, to to...
Read moreI love Indian cuisine and try restaurants wherever I go. Overall, Rangoli was very good. The menu had a wide selection of food with many vegetarian options. Just after sitting down, my server brought out 2 pieces of wafer-like cracker, each about 10” in diameter with mango and mint-cilantro chutneys. It was very good, and salty, too. I’m no fan of salt/salty foods but it didn’t bother me. I was a little disappointed when they took away the chutneys before my food was served. I like to dip the naan in them. I ordered the coconut chicken and asked for medium spiciness. Typically, Indian food can be VERY spicy, so medium should have had a little kick to it. However, it was not spicy at all. That did not affect my overall rating, it was wonderful. The serving size was just right for a single person with a large appetite. The chicken pieces were bathed in a sauce of coconut milk, chilis and curry leaves providing a great flavor. The naan was surprising. This was the first time I’ve had it with a very light brushing of butter on it. At all the other restaurants I’ve tried it was served dry. It was really good. The chai tea was bland. It was good, just needed some more chai in it. The service was very good. Both water and tea refills came without asking and before needed. My order was taken promptly and the food arrived quickly. Overall, I recommend this restaurant and will return when I’m back in the greater...
