I had an interesting experience here. I was staying at a nearby motel, and decided to get food here because I arrived late at night, and pretty much nothing else was open. I ordered via mobile app, and came.tobthe drive thru. First... I had to wait to get to the speaker because there was a man and a woman standing there, reading over the menu, apparently expecting to be able to walk thru and order... I get up to the speaker finally, and am greeted by a worker at his wits end, it seemed. I was informed that the cook ( the only other person scheduled to work with the guy on the speaker) had shown up drunk and had a little freak out or something and left. So the first guy was there alone, but knew how to make.the food, which he said he could do if I could be patient... Which I am, anyway, and I felt bad for him. To be honest, I probably wouldve just skipped it altogether if I hadn't already ordered and paid thru the app... But since I already came out of pocket for the food, I waited. When I got.up to the window, the people from the speaker were up there, trying to hijack my order time...waiting for the worker to open the window so they could pounce on him and try to pressure him into taking their order. He refused, and said he was trying to help me, to which they replied...they were here first! Hahaha! Wow...they argued for a few minutes before finally leaving. Then I waited a few more minutes, and went on my way with my food.
The food, overall, was ok, I guess. The burgers had stuff on them that I asked to omit, and added other things that weren't supposed to be there or asked for. But... The last thing I wanted to do at that point, after returning to my hotel, was go back and see what else might happen in...

tl/dr Doesn't matter if it's the Forest Hill location or the one on Highway 49 and Bell. I've had Jack in the Box all over the country and love its food and menu. I've lived in Auburn CA for years. I have done the receipt surveys, written to the corporate office, etc. Do this and you'll get no different experiences, just a free menu item. Screw that. I have worked in the food service industry most of my life. And I don't understand how these two locations stay open.
Majority of experiences I've had at Jack in the Box in Auburn CA:
Everything fried in the fryer is made in oil that hasn't been changed in waaaaay too long. I can notice the taste. Employees I know confirm this.
When it's busy, employees seem to not know how to handle the rush. I've had to sit in the drive through and then walk inside and then walk away because of the wait. Waaaaay over ten or even fifteen minutes before ordering .
Read moreThis place is going downhill as far a customer service goes. I never really took customer service that seriously w/ fast food service restaurants until today.
As I was waiting to order some guy comes in from outside appearing disgruntled. He took my order wearing his hoodie (the rest of the workers were doing the same). As I ordered he stated me he couldn't hear what I was saying. (Hmm, does the hoodie covering your ears have something to do with it??)
I proceed to go out to my truck when he did screw up on a sandwich I didn't order. No big deal, obviously he didn't hear me.
I go back in to get the right sandwich. Instead of just getting the sandwich I wanted he prefers to argue AND his manager with me and what I got has the same meat in it and why would I bother getting the sandwich I wanted in first place. Really!?! After a bit of back and forth the worker eventually relented and admitted he messed up but only after the manager told him to correct the order.
This is my first time ever leaving a review. Hopefully things change at this location. FYI it is more of inconvenience to have employees with a bad attitude with the customers more...
