Dairy Joy — Restaurant in Auburn

for 10 summers now ive enjoyed having the Auburn DJ just 3 blocks away - but it seems im going to have to venture in the car this year if today's visit is any indication of the season to come .. as a previous ice cream scoopper and career in retail customer service - i am appalled and saddened at what has become of this once fun and friendly local summer tradition the new menus are IMPOSSIBLE to read - even standing directly under them the stark black dividers and covered - constantly closed - windows is very unwelcoming and at times appears closed an apparently new ordering system had the girls making 3 mistakes in a matter of 10 items the people behind us got their parfait & sundae before we got our parfait and mix in - we were all confused trying to figure who the order belonged too hearing the manager berate her workers directly in front of customers about keeping track of orders - this made me very uncomfortable for the young workers trying their best my boyfriend had an incredibly hard time eating his smores parfait .. i was unable to ask for something to help with the mess as all the windows are covered and closed - being opened only long enough to shove an ice cream out with a vocal description before being slammed closed again and the cherry on top! my mix in cup was cracked and apparently their cute sticker was supposed to make it better! i didnt realize it was there until it melted all over my hand and pinched my finger .. i went to ask for another cup to slip it into - but had to knock on the covered closed window first!

im hoping it can still come back - but for now it looks like this may be the end...

It's ok. I asked for a strawberry sundae with extra strawberry syrup and they completely forgot the strawberries, and when I asked for that to be corrected they just put some syrup with no strawberries on the bottom.

Edit: I ordered a strawberry sundae and I didn't get any strawberries in it, and when I asked, it was for the strawberries with the syrup. It's just odd I'd have ordered a strawberry sundae and get absolutely no strawberries in my strawberry sundae. 👀

Additionally to clarify from the beginning: My order had been "a strawberry sundae with extra strawberries". When I received it there was only whipped cream and a cherry on my "strawberry sundae". I'll make sure to take a picture...

Very rude a bug flew into my nephews ice cream right when the lady put it out as he grabbed it a bug flew into his ice cream I kindly asked her for another one I didn’t mind paying for another one and she gave me the same one back i threw it and gave him mine she left the rest of my ice cream out knowing there are flies outside a common sense could’ve been used here she rushed out to take the sign off and shut the window like I understand it’s closing time i rather have them not serve me and tell me they are closing soon and I could’ve went somewhere else I even tipped. I highly recommend going to the log yard instead this place was not it and also didn’t feel very...
