Hops n Drops — Restaurant in Auburn

This Hops n Drops was a great overall experience, with tasty choices and a knowledgeable staff. Dolly was our friendly and attentive server. It’s New Year’s Day, so I thought I’d healthy up with some veggies and I started with a pepper vodka Bloody Mary. I would have liked some bacon in it and maybe spicier, but it was good. Was looking at some of their healthy options but thassano and had the Mushroom burger sans swiss, add cheddar and a side of Au Jus to dip it into and fries. To make it easier to dip, I sliced the burger in half. The fries here have that crispy seasoned crust to them and were cooked flawlessly. The burger was pretty perf, but I had a feeling it would be better with beer. I added a 22 oz Mac n Jack's. My amber Mac n Jack's was brilliant; cold, complete with frosty tall mug and all. My newly-gluten-sensitive wife accidentally snuck a bite and gave it a thumbs up. I hope it was worth the stomach ache she’s going to have. My wife had the chicken caesar salad with clam chowder combo and their Italian limoncello drop. All of my order was perfect, but my wife doesn’t think she’d order the chowder again. I don’t think that is a conventionally measurable opinion though. She prefers Skipper’s chowder. So, her chowder scale is... unique and this could very well be great chowder. Dear Hop and Drops I wanted to take a moment to share some feedback regarding my recent experience at your establishment. The food at Hop and Drops was truly exceptional, and the service provided by your staff members was top-notch. However, I must express my disappointment with the liquor selection available. As a patron who enjoys watching games while sipping on a fine whiskey, I found the options lacking.

Comparatively, I have visited Rockwood Pizza, where the liquor selection is more extensive. Nevertheless, despite their variety, I must admit that the quality of the drinks and the food does not match up to what Hop and Drops offers.

I believe that with a few adjustments, Hop and Drops could truly excel in all areas. Your attention to improving the liquor selection would greatly enhance the overall experience for customers like myself. I hope that this feedback will be taken into consideration and lead to positive changes in the future.

Most of the time I would give this place a 4 because I do love the burgers, beer, and tots! Daily Happy Hour is great too. I’d give it a 5 if it weren’t for the annoying “Hi Guys” when you walk in the door. My wife and I are in our late 50’s, we are not “guys”. I get it though, it just really annoys me! Today’s 1star is a result of a full glass of wine being spilled on our guest when the server was delivering our drinks. Of course it was an accident and we feel very bad for the guy. Our poor guest was covered though. What surprised me was there was no compensation on our bill at the end of our dinner! A whole glass of wine spilled in your lap and no compensation?! I’ve been comped drinks from othe restaurants when there’s been a mixup and we had to wait ten minutes. Not at Auburn Hop n Drops. In the end we had to bring it up with the server and she comped us a glass of wine and our friends Happy Hour salad. We were very disappointed in that we had to ask. Very bad service on their part.
