I’m giving 5 stars only because the person working the counter doesn’t deserve a bad review as they were clearly doing the best they could with the situation they were in.
I stopped in for a shake thinking it’d be quick since there was hardly anyone inside. There was just one customer before me, someone waiting outside, and maybe a few phone/online orders. Even so, it ended up taking 20 minutes just to get a shake (nothing that needed to be cooked).
Meanwhile, another employee was in the store but focused only on stocking. At one point, the phone rang and instead of answering, they handed it off to the person already making all the orders, which slowed things down even more. On a Saturday morning, not even lunchtime yet, it felt like there just wasn’t enough support for the counter staff.
The shake itself is great, but the management/scheduling setup is what made the experience frustrating. Customers should really come before stocking shelves when the place is short-handed. I only stopped in because I was at the bakery down the road which was packed with people and had a line out the door where I had to wait on the sidewalk for my chance to order. Some how that took less time than it took for me to...
Read moreI’ve eaten here and picked up food my kids a number of times. The food is wonderful, but the first time that we decided to eat in at the café, I realize that it’s not a particularly child friendly establishment. I ordered a turkey sandwich for my five-year-old, who accidentally dropped half of his sandwich on the floor. I showed them the dropped turkey and tomatoes that fell out as soon as he picked it up- I asked them if they would replace the sandwich or even just bring me a couple slices of turkey so that I could put the sandwich back together with the bread that we had left. The employee said she needed to speak with her manager before she could decide what to do and then left and came back, saying that her manager had said they could neither replace the sandwich nor even give us some slices of turkey…. I have never experienced anything like that in any place I’ve eaten food. Adults drop food and the establishment will replace it, much less a five-year-old who accidentally dropped part of his sandwich because there was no toothpick holding it together when he picked it up…I couldn’t believe they refused to replace half a...
Read moreWhile the price is premium, the sandwiches and maskless service we got were just adequate. We got two turkey clubs with a bag of chips for $32. The bread was good (possibly truckee sourdough?) but the sandwich was a little overloaded with toppings so the bread fell apart and toppings squished out the sides. Truckee sourdough is really the best sandwich bread, but toasting it takes it to that level. Melting the cheese would also be nice on such an expensive sandwich. The food came in a decent amount of time as we were the only ones there. We came around ~2 and there was quite a few workers so maybe the staffing problem mentioned in other reviews has been resolved. Prices: Sandwich $12 - $13, Smoothie $8, Juice $9 Workers being maskless won’t bother everyone, but the delta variant is going crazy rn… I guess it’s a little disconcerting to see people prepping food maskless. They were nice and fairly quick. Overall, just maybe not worth the money to us personally but still an...
