Like Forrest Gump's mama gave him advice, my mom did the same for me. My mom said, "If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything." I'll begin by saying that the ice was cold and the Sprite tasted like like it should. Beyond that (Sorry, Mom) I have nothing "good" to say. The proprietor was friendly, he took my order, took my money, delivered my meal and I never saw him again. (So... 3 stars) While waiting for my meal, I heard a microwave chime and immediately thought, "Awh, oh." The brisket I had was without flavor, except that of the bbq sauce (broth) it was bathing in. Another reviewer referred to it as "soup." (I should have read the reviews before I chose this place for dinner; I simply saw the rating of 4 point something and thought I'd give it a try because it was nearby.) For the two sides, I chose bbq beans and potato salad. I can say, in all likelihood, that no one makes bbq beans and potato salad like this place and there's a reason for that. I won't elaborate. The bread that came with the meal closely resembled a hotdog bun, which had been warmed on the grill. (Food... 1 star) I won't rate the atmosphere because it's not important to me. I went for a meal, not to look around or to be seen. I recommend that you read others' reviews. Regrettably, I did not. Overall...
Read moreIf you are driving through Auburn pass all the commercial fast food and get yourself some real bbq! Great little place, never would have found it without Google maps area search, but so glad we did. In a super funky little strip mall, but look past that and follow your nose to the smoky, sweet smell! We tried the brisket and tri-tip, and they we're each delicious and unique (sometimes with BBQ all the beef tastes the same). We also had the garlic mashed potatoes, potato salad, coleslaw, fries and corn bread. All the sides except the fries are legit house made, nothing out of a tub or dehydrated potatoes. The corn bread had actual bits of green onion and corn kernels. My only little issue was the styrofoam plates, but I understand in such a small place real plates just wouldn't be feasible and paper would probably collapse under the weight of the...
Read moreHands down the best BBQ place in the area. Small family business ran by a man who cares about his work. It's a small hole in the wall with little to no curb appeal besides a large star sign above the door. The food was absolutely delicious and the servings are more than fair. He smokes and cooks his meat outside their front door in a smoker that fills the air with a wonderful smell. The pulled pork is my favorite dish with soft and a tender pork mouthful. It goes along with two sides. He brings your food to you and keeps each portion separate using plates that have their own compartments. We will continue coming here every time we are in the area. His food is great and so is his attitude. Customer service was great. The building is small and there are only a few tables, even a few outside. But it's a diamond in the rough right off of the freeway!...
