We were patrons on 5/16/25, we walked in and we were seated right away by a very nice, tall lady with grey hair. Right behind us, was a man picking up a to go order and was helped by Velvet. The owner, not sure of first name; but last name is Haddid, yelled at her for not seating us…we were already seated and Haddid did not see any of this. Haddid proceeded to yell at Velvet over this, everyone could hear. Later during our breakfast, Haddid proceeded to scream at Velvet over something different. When I say scream, I am not over exaggerating. VERY unprofessional and disgusting behavior as an owner. We will NOT be back. Poor Velvet had to clock out and leave, I’m sure she was told to. The look on her face of embarrassment made me feel for her. I will be contacting the BBB, over this. I don’t feel as an owner of an establishment, that this is ever okay. After Velvet left, Haddid proceeded to talk to everyone about the situation, VERY unprofessional, catty, and immature for a lady in her 60’s. Who would want to work in such a hostile work environment?? I’ve done customer service for many years, and have NEVER treated a team member the way Haddid did today. My heart goes out to that poor waitress and others that work there. Disgusting behavior and not the way to run a business. Haddid also rushed our order, got my eggs wrong and blamed ME for her mistake. When we asked for condiments, she got very annoyed and rude. I wish I knew this owners name, she’s a round, loud, RUDE person. NEVER gonna back again and don’t recommend going there, not...

The first time I visited edelweiss was about four months ago and it was a decent experience. It's a relatively small diner and is usually packed. I visited on a Saturday and the every table was full. After a brief wait we were sat and had some delicious coffee and water served to us. We ordered our food and there was an understandable wait considering how busy they were. Unfortunately our food had plastic in it, undoubtedly from the cooks rushing to get all the orders done. They comped our entire meal and I left a generous tip.

My second visit was today on Sunday around 10am. The diner had only a few tables filled and the service was a lot faster. The 4 egg super omelette was absolutely delicious and plastic free this time around. The coffee here is great and so is the food. I wasn't too impressed with the biscuits and gravy. Overall I believe that you should be weary of this restaurant during the rush. But during the down times it's an absolute gem and not too bad...

Luck was shining on me today. The wife and I were traveling through Auburn and decided to stop for lunch in Old Town Auburn. Just as I was turning to leave, a car backed out of a street parking spot. I didn't look a gift horse in the mouth and immediately parked. I asked the wife where she wanted to go and she said "why not here"? I looked up and saw the front window of Edelweiss restaurant.

Interior was interesting as it tried to be rustic Bavarian.

Food was fantastic. Wife ordered a BLT with fries and I ordered an omelette. The BLT came out exactly as the wife ordered. The omelette and hash browns covered the plate. Whole the egg part of the omelette was dry although the interior ingredients were well prepared. Overall a very good...

Fantastic family-run establishment. I chanced upon this place while looking for pre-Tahoe breakfast. I loved it so much I made it my post-Tahoe meal too. They are known for their omelettes but don’t sleep on the extra thick French toast! The ambience is super cool, and the place is decked out like your alpine grandma’s mountain retreat living room. The service is warm and attentive and only adds to the homey experience. Can’t recommend enough.

We tried this local diner in Auburn after looking at earlier reviews. We went in during the lunch rush and had some slow service however the food was fantastic. The omelette was my favorite item and was worth the wait. Sandwich was good as well, but I prefer the breakfast over the lunch. Even with slow service, the staff had great hospitality. Will return again in the off-peak hours.
