CA Caribbean Delight — Restaurant in Auburndale

So my family and I tried to have dinner at Caribbean Delight in Auburndale tonight and I’m honestly so disappointed. We placed an order online at 6:33pm, with an estimated completion time of 7:15pm. My husband and I pull up and he walks in at 7:10pm, where he is then informed that they “don’t have any patties” (all we ordered were patties fyi). The gentleman at the front gave my husband some attitude after asking why they couldn’t call to inform us of this, then stated we needed to pick something else to order and refused a refund. My husband was not having it and stated that we want what we ordered or a refund. The gentleman went to the back and had another gentleman come out to speak with my husband, who then told him we had two options: wait for patties to be made, or receive a refund. My husband and I opted for the order being made because we truly did enjoy the food each time we have gone. They inform us that they are out of jerk chicken, so the jerk chicken patties will have to be beef patties, which is fine with us. The gentleman stated he would add additional patties to make up for the error as well. We end up waiting almost an hour before finally getting our food at 7:50p, only to get home and the order to still be incorrect and there are no additional patties. Used to love this place, but I’m so disappointed that we wasted 90...

I'm so excited about this new Jamaican restaurant that opened today! They have the most Jamaican dish options that I've ever seen in other local Jamaican restaurants. My family and I called ahead and ordered the following meals: Jerk Chicken, Curry Chicken, Fried Snapper and Escovitch Fish. The fish are made to order but was ready for pickup within 15 minutes. Everyone enjoyed their food! The flavors were authentic, the spices were spot on, and it felt like my own Jamaican dad, aunts and uncles were in the back cooking. The collard greens and Escovitch definitely have a kick of spice! Once I got home we realized we had a little mix-up with our sides, but worked it out. They were doing their best to serve incoming customers efficiently and quickly. I would just recommend if you ordered ahead, for you to double check your order before you head out. Otherwise, no complaints. Big ups to CA Caribbean Delight! You are a long awaited and very much welcomed addition to Auburndale!! I'll definitely be back and have already sent photos to other Jamaican friends and my family to come visit. I can't wait to try more...

Food was not fresh. Greens we're too spicy and had no real flavor. The Mac and cheese was super oily and stiff. It's not the healthiest dish but come on guys!! And the rice and beans had absolutely no flavor and was also stiff and dry. I gotta say... y'all definitely gave me a lot to say and I'm not proud of my opinion. Speaking of stiffed... I ended up spending $50 here on sides only because my wife and I eat differently than most and they forgot to include the cornbread in my order. I see from previous post that forgetting food is a common occurrence with this establishment. All I'm saying is....do better my people. No hate, I promise. I'm tired of having to eat tacos when I want something...
