Deri Delite — Restaurant in Aurora Township

My family of 4, this was our first time trying it out. When we arrived there was a small line but went very quick. The owner even called my wife out of the line while waiting and handed her a small ice cream cone for my two kids to share while in line. Incredible! Then when we reached the window to order was super friendly (“hello my friends”) and even gave the kids two slushies on the house. We hadn’t even ordered yet and I’m having the greatest experience I’ve ever had at an ice cream place. After ordering, with prices very reasonable for today’s day, the portions were out of control. So much ice cream for what you pay. The ice cream was incredible (blind taste test at least as good if not better than DQ). Overall, this was the best experience I’ve had in 38 years at an ice cream place. Will be coming back to support this local gem rather than a big corp of which there are several a little closer to home!...

I hadn't read any of these reviews before coming, but the commentary here on Maps is all true. Can you imagine a business, in this day and age, that cares about their community and the quality of their products? Coming here is a rare experience.

The gentleman at the window, whom I presume is owner, is genuinely charming and gracious. You get the impression that the "delite" is all his, spending summer evenings handing out joyous desserts and snacks to his customers.

Clearly, this is not gourmet food, but the quality of the ingredients and the preparation were noticeably superior to that which I've become accustomed. Incorporating salted nuts on the sundae was unexpected, giving it a surprising twist evocative of Europe.

Overall, our experience was so pleasant, the fact that I couldn't find any banana in my banana split didn't enter my mind until I'd crossed the finish line. Highly...

Hands down the best family owned Ice Cream/Food spot. The owner and staff here are THE KINDEST people I have ever been gracious enough to meet. They are polite and genuinely invest in the experience of the customer. They love seeing the reaction that kids and adults both have to their delicious offerings. They have very generous prices and offer more than generous portions. Not to mention everything they offer is absolutely delicious. Please don’t wait to visit this establishment. Once my family discovered it I vowed never to give my money to a large chain dessert restaurant again. We now make weekly trips here on the weekends all summer for a treat.
