Mario's Pizza — Restaurant in Aurora Township

Okay before I get into this, let me explain how I rate experiences. I always start out at 3 stars. 3 is an "as expected experience," meaning that the service was not exceptional yet not lacking in any aspect. Then, I add or subtract stars depending on exceptional qualities.

So I arrived just after closing. (I didn't check what time it closed--my bad). But, when I walked up, I was greeted by (who I assume was the owner) just as he was going out for a delivery and invited me inside. The woman in the kitchen mentioned that they were closed but took my order anyway.

As for the pizza--personally, I thought it was delicious. It was cooked evenly and thoroughly, had a good amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings.

I added 2 stars because of the facts that the owner was very friendly and that I was accommodated even just after close.

I'll admit that I've ordered from this place a few times and had decent experiences, but my exceptional experience today made me review it. I recommend...

Recently moved to North Aurora and we were looking for some pizza this past Saturday night. Decided to try Mario's. Used the Slice app on my phone. Got there on time for pick up but they were super busy and had to wait a bit. Manager / owner came out and apolgized for the delay and offered free water or pop. I Politely declined and continued to wait. A few minutes later the same gentleman came all the way out to the front with 2 boxes. He said there was some sort of glitch with the app and said it ordered twice but I was only charged for one! I said are you sure? He said yes please take them and thanked me again for my patience. The pizza was still steaming hot when we got back to the apartment, and it was really very good! Will defininately be going...

Firstly, let me say I have high standards for pizza. Chicago born and raised, good pizza is an essential part of any neighborhood.

I've had pizza from this place 3 times now and it is consistantly proven to be some of the best pizza around. The thin crust is the perfect balance between crisp and buttery, great flavor in the sauce and the cheese is tasty and never greasy. Ingredients always taste fresh. Staff is always polite.

I definitely recomend Mario's Pizza to anyone looking for that thin crust(but not too thin), chicago style pizza!
