I am a Tredwell regular, so I feel a little bad for doing this, but I decided to check out Society 57. I was beyond impressed. First of all, the atmosphere of this joint is extremely chill. As a student, I look for quality and comfort within the shop, this place is definitely a new favorite. It's massive, with multiple areas including exquisite couches, awesome gathering areas, and an ambient backroom that is perfect for studying purposes. The coffee here was extraordinary. I generally stick to americanos when trying out new places, so this place was no different. Hands down, one of the best americanos I have had in a long time. The flavoring was bold (and nutty) with a hint of graham. I ended up getting two extras (for free!) because I am the world's slowest coffee drinker and all three times they got cold. The food is also extraordinary. I ordered an Avocado Toast 1.0. Best avocado toast ever. I also treated myself to a chocolate croissant. Society 57 had a deal with katic bread, so I knew I was in for a real treat. The ladies working here were awesome and so sweet. I tried chatting with the dudes working later on and they seemed a little ambivalent to what was going on. None the less,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCoffee quality has gone down pretty dramatically in the past 9 months. Came here a few times in November 2023 and was impressed by the quality and diversity of flavors offered in the pour over coffees. Iāve been in 2x in the past week and have generally been disappointed. It appears the roasts being served as pour over now are just too dark. The flavor profiles stated in the different origins on the menu donāt come through; the only thing I taste is roast. The coffee isnāt necessarily terrible, but I wouldnāt serve those beans by this brew method. A pour over is preferred to highlight subtleties and clarity in lighter to medium roast beans, but in the cups that Iāve had here recently, those qualities are overpowered by the darkness of the roast. Idk if itās a change in coffee sourcing or the roasters that you all usually source from have had a change in staff or management, but Iād consider finding new beans from a higher quality 3rd wave roaster. Doesnāt seem like a brewing error either, just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time here. I didn't really come for the coffee, but for the Art and Market that was being held in the back. It seems that the 4th Saturday of the months of February, March and April, they hold this event. If you are just going for coffee and food, be prepared for a wait in a line. This place is hopping and I can see why. Great atmosphere, wonderful morning drinks and food. Nice comfortable seating if you can snag one of the couches. The market was wonderful, lots of booths for the space and nice items. I love giving back to the small business person and artist. I made a small haul of items.... I can guarantee the cheese bread will be gone by the end of the weekend!! Plus nothing is better then frozen mint cookies, so happy I snagged a box from the Girl Scout table. The other items I've taken pictures with their cards, so if you're interested you can visit...
