I was disappointed to got receive any salsitas but it did include 3 whole pickled jalapeño peppers, which were a tasty addition. The torta was very good I had the asada. The meat was tender and flavorful and good quality, not a lot of fatty pieces, in fact, I don't remember any fatty pieces. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft inside and nice and thin so it didn't overtake the ingredients. The toppings were fresh and in an appropriate amount for the sandwich. I’ve only been in Illinois for a couple months and I was craving a torta for lunch today. I picked this place based on the pictures, and I am SO glad that I did. I got the Torta Mexicana and a pineapple Jarrito, this is hands down the best lunch I’ve had this week so far. I placed my order over the phone and it was ready in 10 minutes, the torta was still hot and the jarrito was still very cold when I got back to the office. I went for the tortas "ahogadas" because that's whats different about this place. only to find out they no longer make them🤦🏽‍♀️ Since this was my first (and probably only) visit, I was super disappointed. Instead I ordered a regular torta. Let me tell you.....it had potential. The meat was great, but the rest, very mediocre. The size of the total for the price was awful.
