I found this place off of Google when searching for places to eat. It’s so hard to find Taiwanese cuisine in the suburbs without going to Chicago. Taiwan Cafe in Chicago has the largest selection of Taiwanese food and the food is delicious. Tugo Tea House has really good Taiwanese popcorn chicken but seating is limited. The International Mall in Westmont is missing a lot of signature Taiwanese dishes. That brings me to 9 Ball Taiwan Cafe in Aurora. It’s located where the whole Vivi’s bubble tea used to be, next to Park to Shop.
They have Taiwanese food as well as dim sum available. When you walk inside, there is plenty of seating. The seats are very comfortable. You can order from the kiosk or from the register. We ordered a side of popcorn chicken, fried tofu, and Taiwanese fried chicken cutlet bento. If you follow them on ig or FB, you get free scallion pancakes. The portions are very generous. Both of the fried chickens were very juicy and crispy. The scallion pancakes were soft but firm.. Fried tofu was good, make sure you eat it with the sauce. We didn’t get a chance to try any of the drinks but we will next time. Prices were fair. This is the closest Taiwanese spot to me, so I will...
Read more⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A culinary treasure unearthed near Fox Valley Mall! 🍴✨ This hidden gem dazzles with flavors that dance on the palate and a spotless ambiance that invites you to linger. From the moment we stepped in, the staff’s warmth enveloped us like a cozy embrace 🤗, effortlessly accommodating our two families at a nice Booth table fit for a feast.
Our order? A symphony of dishes that left us spellbound! The black pepper beef 🥩 was a fragrant masterpiece, its rich, velvety sauce clinging lovingly to every tender morsel. The Taiwanese chicken 🍗? A revelation! Pan-fried to crispy, golden perfection with nary a hint of breading—my wife, a skeptic of overly breaded poultry, was utterly charmed. And the fried squid 🦑? Crisp, succulent, and bursting with oceanic zest. The little one couldn’t stop popping the addictive popcorn chicken into her mouth, gleefully stealing spoonfuls of my fluffy rice to round out her meal 🍚😍.
This place isn’t just a wonderful cafe; it’s a celebration of flavor and hospitality 🎉. Highly recommended for anyone craving a memorable dining adventure. We’ll be back—again...
Read moreI came to the 9 Bar Taiwanese Cafe with my partner during the second week of their soft open. The only thing that needs to be said is: We found a true hidden Gem! However, I won’t stop there; not only was the food cheap and delicious, they also had an amazing atmosphere with plenty of space + outlets but they also had friendly staff who gave amazing insight and suggestions.
Now on to the food:
We ordered the Taiwan popcorn chicken combo and the pork belly bao.
The combo came with an order of their popcorn chicken, one scallion pancake, and a specialty drink. And the Bao was an individual item.
Everything was made in house and tasted phenomenal! The food was light and airy while still satisfying us completely. The specialty drink we chose was their passion fruit with leeche (recommended to us) and, again, everything was sooo good!
We paid under $30 for our dinner.
100% will be back, and I definitely recommend a meal here (even if you don’t fancy...
