I had purchased black beads for my upcoming new born today at Tanishq Naperville.
As soon as I entered the store, a sales girl had greeted me nicely and showed me all the black beads models and carefully explained me the prices for different models. They had also offered me 10 percent off on making price based on birthday discount.
I had liked one black beads bracelet and wanted to buy two of them. They only had one piece and when I asked if they can make second one similar one. She said she will check with another sales girl if the product is available at any other store in USA. They both both came back saying that the product is available in Dallas and they said they can get it shipped for me. When I asked if I need to pay for that item, she said no need but if you want you can pay you can ask in the front counter about the second piece.
I decided to purchase two items and went to front desk. The women(looked very pretty) explained that the other bracelet(that they need to get from Dallas), explained that if I pay 75% of the payment then they will lock the gold price for me. I said ok and paid the amount for first item. They asked me to wait by the time they generated the bill for second one.
My mom and I were looking at the other items and then after sometime I asked if the bill was ready. They said yeah. They asked me to pay 75% full but now the man(looked like owner) told that they cannot fix the gold price. He explained that the item needs to ship from Dallas and does not have a physical item. He said he cannot freeze the price of the gold and when I told that his team mentioned different thing before. he said it’s a human error and can cancel the complete order. He mentioned all the things that actually did not match with the earlier conversation and tried to repeat the same things again and again(system doesn’t accept).
I felt they are trying to misguide people based on how they look and how much amount the customers are buying. They say one thing while showing the item. They say something else while paying the amount and they ask us to wait and then change the word again. He said it is a human error. Human errors do not happen at jewelry shops. These are all related to Money where customer is paying real Money and these are not bugs at a software that can be fixed. The moment he said he can cancel my order, I was shocked because I am not mad to spend 1.5 hours looking for an item, liking it, asking details, different people saying different answers. And then at the end he can say it’s a human error.
Please be careful while shopping at this store. While the collection is nice. The moment you go to cashier you need to keep your eyes open, pay attention to every detail or else they can switch the words easily. They are very cunning and try to misguide customers and then say it’s a human error.

Since my family is parking the car, I said they will be in 5 mins and we will finalize the items which we shortlisted . We do understand they are closing the store but the way Ms. Gayatri spoke to us saying that you have only 5 mins time and you need to finalise the things. She is not giving any items for free. I have been visiting the store for years now and this is the worst experience I had. The team at Tanishq is always amazing. They try to spend the time and explain more details about the product. But this time the way Ms. Gayatri spoke was not something I expected from Tanishq. Let’s be fair, when you say 5 mins for finalizing the shortlisted items, are you finishing your billing in 5 mins? No, you guys don’t and I do understand when you are dealing the money and gold, we have to be very careful and that’s why we wait until they finish the billing by taking their own time. So over all, please be patient with customers particularly the tone you use towards the customer. I had just left the shortlisted items without purchasing only because of Ms. Gayatri. Ms. Sravani sales person was apologizing on behalf of Ms. Gayatri which is a nice gesture from her. We all work for someone in some different companies and it does not matter how good you are at your work but you need to have soft skills particularly if you are directly dealing with customer. Read moreMy husband bought a surprise gift costing alomost $10,000 for me with my sister's help in NJ Tanishq without seeing the product. My sister was told we could exchange in Chicago if needed within 15 days. When we went to Chicago within 15 days, owner told us we can't exchange another store product. She also asked me twice if I wore it after I told her it was unworn. Why should it matter if it is within 15 days ? Anyway, we decided to buy a set of earrings in Chicago store same day. We noticed product was defective in the store right after we paid with credit card. Owner told us she will get it fixed if we leave it with them. She promised to cancel and refund 'as an exception' if I am not satisfied with the repair. Finally when they called me and I went on weekend to pick up, the repair was not satisfactory and I asked to cancel and refund. They argued it was over 15 days even though I never actually took the product home with me. I chose another set of earrings that's $290 less than the original set. They again argued that they will give 'store credit' for the balance as 'an exception'. I had to spend half a day to travel to store, argue with them to get that $290 cash back after spending close to $11,000 in Tanishq. My friend who accompanied me, my husband, my sister and I are all disgusted by this poor experience and are never coming back to Tanishq.
