Cody's Cafe and Bar — Restaurant in Aurora

I took my date to Cody's, what a great experience. I've known these wonderful folks for years through their other restaurant Bettola Bistro. They have the best of the best front of house staff with wonderful service, attention, charm, and knowledge of the menu, wine, and cocktails. Andy and Josh served us and they were spot on. Jen's Negroni was just right. And Sue's creations from the kitchen are a wonderful combination of old world and fusion... all simply focused on delicious. Cody's is focused on affordability but you get all of the balance and unique flavors you would expect from a chef who enjoys the art of food. I had a burger and Jen had a microgreen shrimp salad. Then we followed that with a tempura. I'm a burger snob and this burger was great. It had a nice bacon-onion jam and mixed greens. The sauce was there to compliment the meat, not hide it. Very nicely balanced flavors and a very tasty burger. Jen said the salad was delicious (I'm allergic to shrimp, but not terribly, so I didn't taste it). After that we shared the tempura. That's the best tempura I've ever had. The batter itself was delicious, like... really. And it had a super delicate texture, just a super mouth feel. And I could still taste the vegetable inside. Wow, nice.

I didn't get a chance to try the pizza... I'm going back for the pizza. Last time I had one of Sue's pizza I was very impressed (that was a 'fusion' pizza and Sue had made an Asian lemon grass sausage to put on it... nice). I'm looking forward to trying the pizza on the menu. I've come to trust that the balance of flavors will be there and hat the ingredients will be picked for quality and flavor. I trust these folks, they're about their business. It's a treat to have that...

I went to Cody's two weeks ago. One of my best friends and her daughter has a birthday and I decided to be on the safe side by taking them to this restaurant. I was absolutely pleased with the welcoming, although I didn't have a reservation, I had to wait a bit due COVID restrictions to be seated. Definitely the staff is ultra friendly and efficient. It was worth the visit.

I had the parmesan chicken. I don't know how they do ot BUT I know how it tastes. Lightly crispy outside and juicy inside, cooked to perfection! Delicious! Definitely the chef is a Master.

My friend and her daughter ordered pasta and also a pizza. The wow factor. Both of them were delighted. Portions are generous and full of flavor. My friends daughter said she never had any cheese pizza like that. Her face told the story. And because she didn't finish the pizza she said that she needed to take that pizza home.

Also we tried as an appetizer the Ahi Tostadas. Exquisite. Every bite is full of well seasoned and combined flavors I can't get enough of.

The Brussels sprouts are incredible. Never had them presented like that. This is a new standard for me. Next time I'm going to get them again.

What I admire of this restaurant that strives for excellence and creativity. Chef Sue is a true genius. She makes sure every plate lives up to her high standards.

Our waiter, very professional in every way, kind and friendly. The place is pristine, neat, very cozy and with a very welcoming atmosphere. I can really say, this is the best Italian food in town. Can't wait to visit again for more great times and amazing food. Thank you Chef...

Thank you Sue for creating dishes that are gluten-free, dairy free person can enjoy in your restaurant. Just last week I was in there and was delight by a gluten-free dairy-free dessert. It was the first time anywhere I could eat dessert while out and about. It was a piece of a pear pie. First of all, it had texture like a pear that was cooked gently and slowly. It had a firm texture but melted in your mouth. Thank you Melissa for sharing your fine dessert with me. Looking forward 2 returning for another one of your creations. If you have ever visited Cody's you will see some wonderful artwork on the half walls located just inside the door. I watched those being created by Melissa and I couldn't have ever conceived how beautiful they would have turned out by the pencil drawings that she originally had on the wall. I love that she also painted one of the flower pots to Accent the wall. The care and creativity abounds in this wonderful Asian / Italian Bistro that Aurora hosts.
