Update - 1/10/21:
"Fatboy never stopped growing not only in size but in his beliefs as well. Beliefs like "People deserve good food, good service, good fun, at a GREAT value!"
{Fat Boys}
This is a lie.
I WAS a regular, even during this pandemic, but after calling in a pickup order and being hung up on; never again. During a Walgreen's run, I decided that instead of cooking, I would get Fat Boy's catfish and green chili and was seriously mulling over Cocktails On-the-Go on the way home. I called while in Walgreen's so the order would be ready by the time I finished shopping. I told the person answering the phone I was calling in an order for pickup, but she was cutting out so I didn't get every word she said.
I asked her to repeat what she said, and I got enough to understand that apparently, Fat Boy's has implemented a new policy and isn't accepting payments at the restaurant and you have to give your credit card info over the phone. She asked if that was ok, and after mulling that info over for a couple of seconds and said, "No", a long no, the type of no one gives when they are contemplating. I wasn't rude or anything, just answered the question and she hung up on me.
No "Bye" or "Ok", just dismissed as a human being because I don't think giving my CC information over the phone is a good idea, especially for someone who is currently dealing with identity theft via a relative. Despite what they ,ay say about how they handle over-the phone payments, I'm not taking any chances. She could have offered this option:
"You can order online using our secure payment system", and i may or may not have tried to order while in Walgreen's, gone home and ordered, then came back, or tried again another day, but instead, I got a 'click'.
I'm not sure if this is a Covid precaution or what, but I am elated that this restaurant is doing so well during these turbulent times that they can afford to lose customers. My money just went and will go elsewhere. This stance confuses me even more because how are they processing dine-in customers' payments? I guess I'll never know...
I was pleasantly surprised. The menu is huge; they had a lot of specials, ample tv's and who doesn't love brunch until 3 pm? If I was going to be picky, I would talk about the small bathrooms, but...
Read morePlaced an online order and said it would be ready for pickup at 320p. Arrived at 324p. Asked bartender if order was ready he asked another guy if he knew about my order. The other guy, slender with glasses, got on the register at the end of the bar to look it up and said yes we will get it for you. Then he disappeared. I then ran into a server named Oscar who I knew from an old job. We talked for a few min and then I sat on the bench at the entrance to wait. I waited patiently for 40 min, without bothering anyone, after I had arrived for a pickup order meant to be ready at 320p. I watched the man who was supposed to be getting my order pass me 4 different times without speaking a word to me. A man and woman came in and placed a pick up order and sat down to wait next to me on the bench. I want to make clear that both Oscar and another Latina woman offered to help me when I first arrived but I told them the other guy was already taking care of me. Finally, I had enough. So I stopped a lady server as she walked by me to see if she could check the status of my order and told her I had been waiting for 40 min. She said sure, asked for my name and left to the kitchen. She came back with my order but stopped in the aisle to ask some other people at a table she was serving who were already enjoying their meal if they needed anything and if they were doing okay. Clearly, not too concerned about me, my wait time or getting my food. She casually gives me my food and confirms my order with this nonchalant attitude when I thank her for getting it. I left and when I got home, the cheese on the burritos is hard as hell. It's salty and tastes awful, like it's been sitting under a heat lamp for a long period of time. Couldn't even enjoy it. Service, wait times, expediting and food quality needs desperate improvement. The only reason I gave 2 stars in service is for Oscar and the young Latina lady who offered to help and...
Read moreSo…there was about a year long period where we’d go in every weekend for brunch. But after countless times of getting extremely slow and poor service, we’ve stopped. It makes me sad to write this review, however, after everything that’s happened and how poorly the owner took care of us when these things happened, we just can’t support this business anymore. First, let’s mention that if you dine here, you better have a solid 2 hours to give because service is SLOW. I took my mom there for brunch one time when she was in town and we found a rather large shell in her food and the owner simply said that they make things from scratch so that happens. (I make things from scratch all the time and there’s never egg shells in my food.) she didn’t apologize, she didn’t offer to comp anything. Just said that and walked away. There was another time I was given the right order with the wrong eggs on top and they brought me out a separate plate of eggs and told me to peel the other ones off and just throw the right ones on top. Once again, no apology, no comping items. No doing anything to make it right. Countless times it takes over 45 minutes for everyone at the table to get their correct drink order. Which is extra hilarious because half the time we all order the same thing or someone may order a pop that never arrives and then you try to get someone’s attention and then wait another 20 minutes. The service here really sucks and it really sucks that the owner doesn’t do anything to make it right. Also, if they could keep some staff I’m sure it would be better, but after hearing how their staff is treated by a previous employee, I’m starting to see why no good people want to work there. Just really disappointed because I do enjoy the food when...
