This location is usually one of my favorites because normally the staff is all so welcoming, friendly, and precise. But this is the third time when my order was made wrong and there’s a barista who just wears the demeanor of a checked out employee. Walking in there, she was standing at the counter staring at the entrance, with a very irritated look on her face as she leaned against the counter. I smiled and said good morning as I went to pick up my drink and pastry that I had ordered online but she just stared with no response. Another barista who heard me responded pleasantly though, which then brought back my smile. I noticed my drink was in the wrong size cup than I ordered but didn’t want to make a big deal about it since it was so busy so I left. Once I drank my coffee in the car I realized it was made wrong, not what I ordered. I was on my way to work and could not go back to get it fixed. You know, I order online with my specifications on the drink I want because I’m in a hurry and want to make sure that I at least get some thing before I get to work. It’s frustrating when it’s not made correctly when I’m expecting to get what I paid for. The young lady I spoke of earlier was there the last two times and I received the same experience. Of course though, I don’t know who made my drink. Whether it was her or not, It’s truly a shame since I used to really like this location due to the staffs friendliness and precision. I came back two more times after the first time my order was wrong because I thought perhaps it was an accident due to the busy rush but three times of my order being made wrong, I now only have negative things to say about this location. Read moreUpdate: I attempted to order the same drink through the mobile order app, hoping it would be clearer than ordering through the drive through. Unfortunately it was again made incorrectly as another drink. It seems that resources and training for older recipes continue to not be accessible for the baristas.
Staff were kind and patient in helping me out with my order. I requested blended strawberry lemonades, which I understand as a former barista and trainer, can be hard if it’s an older drink recipe. Which also unfortunately, Starbucks HQ named very similarly name drink that was more recent, the only distinction being “frozen” vs “blended.”Unfortunately, it was still incorrect after trying to explain the recipe card instructions (strawberry base to very bottom line, lemonade to bottom marked line, ice, and crème base pump).
They did try their best, but my feedback is to help staff with unfamiliar standard recipes, especially if older and not modified, by having the Starbucks drink cards available for easy access. I am unsure if it’s the same, but I use to be able to check the recipe through the POS as well. I want to stress again the employees were great, but I was frustrated that I paid for something that didn’t taste right. I did have it remade, but after the second attempt, I did not want to waste any more of the barista’s time. I’ve always preferred to go to the Starbucks across the street at King Soopers to avoid the wait, but sometimes it’s more convenient to stay in my car and go to this location; however, my roommate went and she asked for No Whip which was labeled, but they still gave her whip. Another time she asked for an extra shot of expresso and ended up w the wrong drink and they kept telling her it’s what she asked for so she just took it, but people make mistakes right? I’ve ordered via mobile app 3x here the 2nd time they somehow managed to forget my second drink, this 3rd time, granted they were busy, but if I put an order in at 9:56 via mobile and have to speak to the cashier and then the manager and not receive my complete order until almost 30 minutes after placing my order, I might as well have jumped in line w the rest of the people who placed their order after me and received their stuff, “we’re just super busy,” is an unacceptable response when I placed my order before some of these people in the drive thru and the walk-in orders and they still received their orders before me.
