Joy Asian Cuisine — Restaurant in Aurora

I just had the absolute worst experience at this restaurant. On the website it says, "We specialize in crafting mouth-watering meals and providing superb customer service". First off, this was a delivery order that came in about an hour and is only 5 minutes from my house (keep in mind there was nobody in the restaurant at all). Second the food I ordered was so over cooked it was inedible. I literally couldn't even chew it. So I call the restaurant to let them know the food was terrible and I wanted to either have it remade, or exchanged for something else. The lady working told me I would have to drive myself up to the store for the exchange. (Every other place in the world for a delivery exchange would drive to the customer NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND). So I immediately decide since they are making me now leave my house after receiving terrible food, that I would just like a refund for the entire order. So I get up to the store and tell the lady working I wanted a refund for my food after not only a slow delivery, the worst Chinese food I have ever had, and having to drive a delivery order back to the store it came from. She refused to give me my money back and thats where things go south. (Any other restaurant would gladly refund a meal for terrible service such as this). I request to speak with the owner and they also refused that. After asking probably 30 times for my money back they tell me all they will do is make another dish for me. Get this (I ask for sesame chicken, and there was a couple who had ordered it behind me and I ask them if it is good. They couldn't even eat their food it was so bad. Then they got up and left after a bad experience themselves). So now obviously I don't want any of their food because not even the dish they were going to make to replace it was any good. I ask for my money back and now they are becoming combative and raising their voice telling me I'm in the wrong for wanting a refund. I then ask for the owners contact information and they refused that as well. So Im writing this to let everyone know to never eat at this place. Not only is the food terrible, but the employees are rude and can't handle business in a professional manner. If I could give a negative amount of stars I would.

My friend and I ordered food here around 11:30 am for delivery at our place of work, which is a library. The website said the food would be here around 12:15-12:45. Around 1:00-1:10, we called because we still hadn't received our food. None of our coworkers had seen the food either. My friend spoke with the delivery guy himself who admitted to handing our food to someone else. He said he came inside and there was a "black guy wearing a red shirt and black hat" coming from the circ desk, so he thought he worked here and gave the guy our food. (However, our cameras showed this driver never even came inside.) The manager, Frank, basically called my friend a liar and told her to check with the circ desk because "his driver gave the food to the circ desk"... even though the driver had already admitted to making a mistake and our cameras showed he never stepped foot inside. This manager argued with us for a good 10 or 15 mins! Then said he would make us a new order and it would be here in 45 mins. At 2:15 I called and asked where this guy was!? All I got was a lady interrupting me yelling at me "he's on his way already!" He didn't show up until 2:30. The food is cold and I am furious with how we were treated!! This is NOT how you treat your customers! We have ordered here several times and have had an okay experience but we will NEVER be ordering from this place again. I love the food here when it's properly prepared with quality ingredients it's enjoyable to eat. I recently ordered the sesame chicken about two weeks ago on a weekend. The chicken was fresh, juicy and really good so I decided to order again on Christmas day. I don't know if they were using up day old food or what but the sesame chicken this time was not even recognizable, the pieces were super small HARD crusted pieces of something other than the juicy chicken that I hoped to get. To top it off, the additional egg foo yung I requested had the oddest texture that I have ever seen in my life. Pulling it out the container the two patties on top were perfect, but the third patty hiding underneath broke apart in my fingers when I picked it up it and literally split into multiple pieces in various directions, plus it was super dark...burnt. It resembled overly fried tiny pieces of hay. My thoughts are stale/reused ingredients or something made that patty not like the others. It looked and tasted bad including VERY salty. I go to this place every so often because I do like it when it's done right. Now I'm going to have to take another break from ordering and can hopefully go back again when it's not a holiday. I hate it when restaurants screw you because it's a take out order. I would expect the same quality as an in-person patron.
