I came in to pick up an order for a Grubhub customer.
First thing I noticed when I walked into the restaurant was that it was TINY. They had a table of 6 adults sitting right in front of the door entry so I quite literally had to squeeze between the wall and the chair of a customer eating. The next thing I noticed was that it was VERY cluttered and dirty. Empty boxes strewn everywhere, dust gathering on shelves and on unusable tables (due to clutter such as newspapers, mail, rotting apples, and soy sauce containers waiting to be filled). There was a smell that I can only describe as rotting, aging food. The woman working at the counter when I went to inform her that I had an order to pick up was rude. Informed me it would be another 30 minutes (we were already at the scheduled pick up time). So I said okay, and went back out to my car to wait (after squeezing back through the wall and chair to the door). I gave them 35 minutes to complete the order and went back inside - I stood at the pick up counter (with another patron looking to pay their bill) for over another 10 minutes. The restaurant was not overly busy. The party of 6 adults were finished with their food and the other 4 patrons in the restaurant also had their food. The woman saw me, made no effort to come and inform me of the status of the grubhub order. I watched her through the curtain in the kitchen - which I may add, from what I saw was equally as cluttered with boxes and general filth as the main dining area of the restaurant. As I stood there waiting I began to feel very lightheaded, the smell in the restaurant was honestly overpowering. Eventually I got the order for the grubhub customer. My entire drive to the drop off location I could only smell that foul smell from the restaurant. It was so bad I had a migraine for the remainder of the evening.
I can’t speak to the flavor or quality of the food from this establishment. My review is based solely on the over all cleanliness, smell and service of this place. I can tell you with certainty that I will never dine here. Nor can I recommend that anyone else dine here - at least until the major health code issues...
Read moreNovember 2024: I gave them another chance after speaking with a friend. It may be a cultural difference. My dad wanted the food I said was the best around the city. I picked him up some combination fried rice. He loved it. They treated me better, too. I was in a sweat suit, so things have changed. One thing that hasn't is their food. It's delicious as usual.
November 2022: I'll never eat here again. The food is excellent, but it feels hostile. I don't know if it's because they think I'm not going to pay because I'm in sweats. Either way, what I wear shouldn't matter. I really love the food but I don't go where I'm not wanted.
That's the vibe, unfortunately. I ordered the lunch special. I didn't get the soup but didn't ask for it either. It's their special they should be asking me which soup I want with it. It doesn't happen, and by the time I remember. They're staring me down as I eat, and I'm uncomfortable.
August 2022: I ate at the restaurant. I had the orange chicken lunch special with fried rice. An additional beef brisket and Wonton noodle soup. I didn't get my soup that came with the special. I didn't realize it until now. It was another great experience. I couldn't finish the soup. Next time, I'll stick with the soup they give you with the lunch special or just get the soup solo. That was a big bowl of soup. That was a meal in itself.
June 2022: I got a to go order, and it was slamming. The customer service was on point. It was easy to pay and quick. The portions were good as always. I got the lunch special with an extra order of egg rolls. I love their egg rolls. Their wontons are excellent, too.
May 2022: I ate at the restaurant.I loved their food it was exceptional. I think the customer service could use improvement upon entering the restaurant. I was ignored for 10 minutes, but I figured they were giving me time to plan my order. Then I had to ask for the soup that came with the lunch special. Conversation with the owner was great. It turned the whole customer service issue around, but I had to mention it for future customers....
Read moreI went here based on 5280 Magazine's reccomendation so I had high hopes. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I should have taken the hint when the place was empty at noon on a Saturday. I walked in expecting to have a sit down meal, but with the condition of the "dining room" I changed my mind. It was like walking into a storage closet. There were stacks of boxes piled up everywhere. On tables, booths, counters, even stacked up in the kitchen. Every available space was packed with inventory boxes and buckets of soy sauce. There were dusty prop apples laying on the counter as well. It was dark and dank, and the tables had a thick and sticky substance all over them. I ordered the Roasted Duck Wonton Soup with Egg Noodles and Crab Rangoons. I was the only one in the restaurant and my order took nearly half an hour to come out to me. The man up front just sat up front watching TV while the woman cooked my order. When I finally got my order home, the crab rangoons tasted like the oil that they had been fried in hasn't been changed in a month. The soup is okay. The wontons are bland, nothing special. But I was very disappointed in the quality of the Peking duck. It had an odd taste, like it's been sitting under a heat lamp since yesterday, it was tough and chewy, and it tasted like it has been burnt. The best way I can describe the flavor of the duck was stale and burned. For the price I paid for my order, I was extremely disappointed with everything about this restaurant. The dining room was disgusting, the service was awful, and the food is mediocre. I truly had high hopes for this place, but I will not...
