This morning, I was thinking of cooking something up so I could take in into work. Then I remembered that nothing I cook ever turns out like the videos I see on YouTube, so I figured it would be best if I let someone else do the cooking. Enter Slim Chickens off Tower Road in Aurora. I walked in the Manager was manning the counter so I asked what's good? He replied "nothing, but the management is excellent". So naturally my next question was: So your best advice on the worst item on your menu would be the best choice I could make? He agreed, and suggested the Chicken strips. So, being a man of simple tastes, I ordered the 5 piece dinner on the menu. The chicken is prepared fresh, it's never frozen, and comes with fries and a drink. The chicken was tender with just the right amount of breading, I think I have found my new favorite fries, and they offer a variety of dipping sauces that compliment the meal. Might I suggest the Blue Cheese dipping sauce. It's delicious, and goes well with the chicken -- and the fries. The order came out in rather short order, in spite of the fact that they were pretty busy with the lunch hour rush, and the price was reasonable for the amount of food you get. The sweet tea was a great way to wash all that deliciousness down, and I had a Chocolate pudding brownie served up in a Mason Jar for desert.Yes, I ate the whole thing, as moderation went out the window with the first bite. So if you are in a lunch hour rush and need some deliciousness to get you through the rest of the day until you get ready to Door Dash dinner, (if I won't attempt to cook lunch, it's a sure bet dinner is off the table as well) then the Slim Chickens off Tower Road in Aurora is the place to go. Let the manager make your decision for you as it will be the best worst decision you will ever make in this life. You guys do a great...

Chicken wings were on the sweet side for my taste, however, they offer several house sauces that have made the wings more to my taste. Have tried the (sauces) Inferno and the Mango Habanero. Inferno gets the edge.
Cayenne Ranch Chicken Sandwich is a toss up. My husband likes it and rates it a 4, I would rate it a 3.
Mac & Cheese was ok and the Fried Mushrooms was my favorite. One note, my first visit was soon after they opened and the mushrooms were big. On my second/latest visit, the mushroom pieces have shrunk to nearly half in size.
Dare I mention their Opening Promo where customers (like me) got a sealed envelope with my receipt. As I was rushing to get out of there, it was only at home that I paid attention to it and realized that (1)it should NOT be opened until brought back and an employee/opens it there and (2)only specified days which, on my part was several days after. Heard of click-baits before, I guess, this is come-back bait. I did go back for another take-out but of course it was not yet on days specified plus I did not even think of that "sealed" envelope again.
Service is good. Counter staff on my 2 visits were friendly and polite.
The place itself is clean, not packed on both visits (between 4-5:30pm). Parking is no problem.
All in all, I still need to sample more of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter weeks of seeing the adds on tv we were super excited to go here, we made the trip which was about a half hour away. When we arrived we promptly ordered two comb meals and sat down. Multiple people came in after us and recieved their meals. We waited 20 minutes at which point it was only us an another gentleman in the store. The floor manager would periodically circle the floor make eye contact and walk to the back. We finally went up to the counter and asked how much longer it would be to which the person who rang up our order asked "did no one give you one of these numbers" to which I replied " no you did not." The floor manager quickly took care of it and we recieved our food within a few minutes. As a nice gesture they offered us two deserts to which we declined being lactose intolerant, which the same person who took our order shrugged and walked off. We ate for about 15 more minute without any interaction from anyone.
The food was really tasty and we enjoyed it but by that time we were over the whole experiance. We've worked in restaurants and customer service, we know what the bare minimum looks like and unfortunately it wasn't present. Hopefully things change and no one else has this type of...
