CHRISTMAS Day...relocated for work. Had to be in town. Staying local. Needed a place for a meal. Of course we knew Asian would be the way to go , and we were really excited to discover that Szechuan House was open !! They allowed us BYOB , since there was no bar available. We brought champagne and gazed and what looked like a very promising huge menu ( with pictures ugh) filled with great descriptives. *They did bring us wine glasses for our BYOB but they were seriously filthy. We asked for more glasses but he stated they were all they had. Couldn't clean them more, said it would be too difficult ." There were lip marks on one !!! (We drank out of tall plastic cups ) We started with a starter of dumplings in red chili sauce. This was small , kinda greasy but Loaded with red chili's. Not horrid. But crazy Spicy. Also ordered, was the request of a lamb dish that offered a plethora of veggies. The owner was there at the table per the request and suggested we get the lamb with cumin and she would put in the request for added veg. ( a two dollar charge unbeknownst to us) Also ordered was the shredded pork in Peking sauce which was served with adorable little see thru paper like crepes (approx 5 in circles) The lamb dish was overly seasoned in cumin , which killed the lamb flavor completely and the so called veggies added were nothing but green pepper chunks and large onion pieces generally used in a sweet and sour Americanized version of Cantonese cuisine. Not one Chinese veg ...No crisp chestnut, No Peapod, No bamboo shoot, No Nothing . I took this as a personal attack thinking that they think no American has a palette !! I was seriously shocked. The Pork dish was somewhat sweet, pork super tender but the oil . OMFG oil. It coated the mouth. I tasted it for the rest of the afternoon. The crepes were discs of flavorless dryness . So dry. The best thing we were served was the hot white rice. So I guess all in all, we paid 45 bucks for rice. Stay away from this place. They changed the prices on Christmas for opportunity, with a white strip of new prices over original menu prices , then served severely subpar food. Smaller portions were obvious also. Not very honest people run this place. And the food is definitely not worth the stop. Or the price. Please trust me. Don't...

We arrived at 6pm, my wife ordered a drink, but before the waitress wrote down her order or mine she said she had to check to see if they had that.....even though it was on the menu. She never came back, we got a second waitress that took down out appetizers but left as before we could give her our entree order and we tried to call after her. Finally a third waiter came to our table and took our order, it was about 620pm now. By about 640 our third waiter said he was going to check on our food. Never came back, it wasnt until about 7pm when I got my food.....and only me, after an hour my wife still hadn't gotten her food. I ordered the chicken dry hot plate. It looked good, I wish I could say it tasted good but cant really say. Because as soon as I put a piece of the chicken in my mouth, I bit into and shattered a chicken bone, which caused me to spit it all out and spend several minutes pulling bone fragments out of my mouth. What I had discovered is that they had cut the chicken in to pieces, with the bones still in. So to eat it, you were required to nibble off the little bits of meat on the tiny bones. Which I was not going to do after almost swallowing and possibly choking on the tiny bones. By 720, my wife still had not gotten her, food. We asked a fourth waiter for our check and explained the issue. The waiter told us that my meal was offered in boneless....which was nowhere on the menu, nor did the waitress explain or offer it. The menue provided nothing except the name of the food too. The fourth waiter named Jim was able to get my wife's food to go and took 10% off our check. (They should have taken off the entire item since I hardly touched it) Jim was the only saving grace. We...
Read moreMost terrible experience of my lifetime; I don’t recommend at all. Severely understaffed, staff not trained correctly complete ignorance of customers. We been seated and nothing for 10 min. I had to ask for menu, no one came to take an order for another 15 min, I had to ask again. Finally order been placed and nothing for another 15 min, no drinks, no soup, I asked again the waiter said they cooking the soup for each order (that is a lie). Soup and tea arrived after another 10 min, main dishes was brought with no rice I asked for rice the waiter said yes and walked away serving other people we asked another waiter – success . Ask for water to be refilled the same story as with rice finally my wife went and grab water pitcher by herself. Appetizers arrived after we finish main dishes. My wife is szechuanese and she said it’s far away from original taste, for me not good either. They were very quick to collect money tough. Complete ignorance don't go there!!!! Total time before we got the soup and tea 50min. Do they have some problems serving...
