Looking for some sweet treats during your visit to Austin? Here are some of our favorites! 1. Churro Co. - we love this place for all of their churro dessert mash-ups! Our favorite was the S’mores Churro. If it’s a hot day, they also have a Mexican Coke Float which is sure to hit the spot! @churrocoaustin 2. Prohibition Creamery - mom and dads favorite sweet treat! Don’t worry, they have plain ice cream for the kiddo’s. The boozy ice cream shakes here are possibly life changing. @prohibitioncreamery 3. Gourdough’s Big Fat Donuts - are just that. Giant, rich donuts that can easily be shared. Fun flavors will make you want to order too many, be warned! @gourdoughsdonuts 4. Amy’s Ice Creams - can be found in several locations around the city. Their classic premium ice creams are undeniably delicious in the summer heat. They also offer banana splits, milkshakes, smoothies and more, if simply ice cream is not enough! @amysicecreams Have we mentioned that sweet treats on vacation work as excellent bribes for well behaved kids? No? Well, no you know our secret! 😆 Save this post for your Austin visit 🍦 . . . . . . . . . #austineats #austinfoodie #austinfood #austinfoodstagram #foodie #atxfood #atxfoodie #atxeats #atx #austin #visitaustin #austintexas #familytraveltribe #familytravels #travelwithkids #viajarconniños #familiaviajera #travelfam #adventurefamily #travelfamily #familyadventures #traveltip #familytravelblog #gowithnugget #traveltips #amoviajar #viajaresvivir #viajarconniños #kidswhotravel

Flippin' ice cream made with real sugar, hand beaten with your choice of toppings. These talented folks will play catch in fabulous ways. Mexican Vanilla is the BEST! Add fresh strawberries for a true Austin flavor. They will let you sample flavors, and even offer dairy-free or vegan options. It's the first place I stop when I land in Austin, and a much better way to wait for my luggage. ...or for my departuring flight. The waffles cones are made in-house as a bonus. Check out the to-go kits, which make a wonderful gift for those who greet you at the airport, whether here or there.

Amy's in an airport - BAM! Austin has the best, most unique airport food purveyors... do I really need a plane ticket to drop-in to the airport? I think not. A "local treasure", truly. I can not count the number of friends that have worked at Amy's at some point, nor the number of fond memories I have dropping in as I grew up for a delicious cream. The flavors are great, from the always-a-good-call Mexican Vanilla standard to their seasonal flavors (like Shiner beer) and funky combinations. The staff (who are accepted into the Amy's cult via a be creative with a paper bag application process) is always friendly and fun, will beat your ice cream & crush-ins together before your very eyes, toss it back and forth at each other and then throw it across the street at your face (note that you must request this privilege). The only down side (for myself) is the milky richness of the ice cream as I am lactose and tolerant. Probably a delicious bonus for others, however if you are as well Amy's also carries sorbets, ices and other...

I grabbed a shake while at the airport. The person waiting on me watched as I entered my tip and was clearly not happy with what was given. She proceeded to slam objects around (clearly displeased) and passed me my shake while avoiding eye contact. I politely said thank you while she turned her back and walked away giving no response back. I will not be returning to this establishment and hope they can work with their serving staff on customer treatment. In addition I noticed an additional tip jar (clearly self made) asking for more tips. All in all, a person shouldn’t be expected to tip more than the cost of their purchase and receive blow back for what they did contribute. The ice cream was good but the service was upsetting. Please work to do better...

Incident on 4/3/22 at Amy's Ice Cream stand. I walked up to the guy working there and simply asked him if they are open. He responded "What the hell do you think? The lights are on!" I then told him in a nice tone that I was simply asking him if they were open and did not appreciate the attitude. It went downhill from there as he went irate. He then slammed the ice cream on the counter. This all went down in front of my 8-year-old daughter. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was close to reporting this guy to the airport management but had to catch my flight. Avoid this place...
