I once found myself wandering the dark streets of West Austin. I was cold, I was broken, my spirit a mere fraction of what it used to be. I had a hole in me, some call it their god hole… I just call it my banana hole. Then, like a lighthouse on the horizon, I beheld a glorious visage. Billowing gently in the Texas breeze, a banner depicting what I first mistook to be Antifa propaganda revealed itself to me. Lo and behold, rather than the crudely drawn iconography of a scrappy but loosely structured revolutionary movement, I had discovered my salvation. A salvation in the form of a chocolate dipped banana covered in candy and nuts. I approached the trailer, light emanating from it like what I can only imagine Moses beheld when he saw God in the burning bush. Silhouetted by this beautiful incandescence was the form of an angel, not that of Gabriel, nor of Satan, but an angel sent from the heavens to deliver tasty bananas into my mouth. I enthusiastically placed my order, the act of which was complicated by excessive mouthwatering and excitement at the prospect of enjoying the impending dessert. After a short wait the angel once again emerged from within the temple of sugary delights to deliver the goods. I can’t recall what happened after that. When I finally regained consciousness from the overwhelming euphoria induced by the delectable connection I knew one thing, and one thing only. I was home. To any weary traveler who reads these words, I say unto you. Should you falter, should you question your will to live, should you need a banana in your mouth, do not hesitate. Acquire any legal tender that you can, and head directly to bananarchy to satisfy your deepest desires. Also the Milly Vanilly is...
Read moreWhen visiting Austin - I bookmarked this place seeing that it was open late &&& it's freakin' bananas covered in sweets. I couldn't pass it up!
After dinner we had a craving for something sweet so we thought, why not?
This location is in a Food Truck parking lot. When we got there, it seemed a little sketch so there was no one there - it was maybe 10:30pm so we were almost at closing time. They had cute fairy lights strung along the food trucks and brightly colored picnic tables so it's a super cute set-up!
The staff was very friendly & walked us through what our options were. We could make our own or choose from one of the premade specials. To keep it simple, I opted for a wholsie S'mores Banana.
If you have a sweet tooth but also want to feel like you're getting some fruits mixed in - this is your place! It was super sweet & I could only eat half of it (finished the other half the next day, don't worry - we don't waste sweets here!).
If I ever visit Austin again, I'd definitely be back & try the Texas Two Step or the...
Read moreTuesday (10/17), I had my first bananas from here. They were FABULOUS - but this review is unfortunately not about the food. I arrived pretty late, about 15 to close. Nobody was inside the trailer, not an issue - I’m sure the young girl was busy. There are five people around me eating bananas and I ask if the place is closed, I express a little frustration that I might not get to order. For unknown reasons, this really upsets a man who seems to know the girl working (or wants to) and he relentlessly bullies me in the dark, screaming obscenities at me. I tipped the girl who eventually made the bananas, but I really don’t like how she never once cared about my safety, asked if I was okay, or even asked the man to stop. He stayed there alone with her when I left. I hope she is okay and that staff is aware of how to make customers feel welcome and safe, even late at night. Really bad experience but again the bananas were good. If you’re a man with a ponytail you’ll have...
