Whenever I visit a new city, I try to find out its murals, specifically the greetings from the city mural. The giant vintage postcard is one of Austin's oldest and most visited murals. It is located on the side of the Roadhouse Relics Gallery and Studio.
The mural is inspired by a 1940s postcard and depicts Austin landmarks like the Congress Avenue Bridge, The University of Texas Tower, and Barton Springs. It was originally painted in 1998 by Todd Sanders, the owner of Roadside Relics and was last restored in 2013.
