Ease of online ordering 7/10: easy enough to order, but not all food is available to order online such as the sweet and sour vegetable soup (canh chua) or braised fish (can kho). Sadly this was the only positive part of my experience. A pickup estimation was provided for 15-30 minutes.
Check in process 0/10: The area is small, and there isn't really any way to figure out how to check in/pick up an order/wait to be seated. And there was no one at the podium to ask, though at least three different employees did walk past me and avoid eye contact.
Customer service 0/10: when someone finally came over, they ignored me and sat down a couple of people waiting off to the side. They never came back. A few minutes later, I was able to make eye contact with someone bussing tables and they came over. I let them know I placed an order online for pickup, and that it should be done as it had been about 40 minutes. They took a glance at the table with orders and didn't find mine, and with no other context told me it would be another 15-20 minutes. They didn't even make an attempt to check the kitchen. At that point I asked to just cancel my order because I highly doubted I was going to see my food anytime soon.
Food quality: unknown, I never got my food.
COVID protocols 0/10: as I was waiting, I was able to observe the restaurant and I can confidently say I won't be back. There is absolutely no distancing at tables, and they were jam packed next to each other. Staff do not wear masks, and often helped multiple tables at once (bring out food, drop off bill, collect payment, etc) with zero hand washing or sanitation between.
Overall 0/10: I consider it a blessing that my food wasn't ready and that I could cancel my order. I guess because they are seeing success with their questionable practices my guess is they won't be motivated to make changes anytime soon. Maybe their food is great (but more likely there just aren't other options) but all I know is that no food is worth the disrespect and safety concerns I...
Read moreSo, actually I don't wanna complain but I'm still feel angry so I think I need to write something. I came with my family and have some food for lunch. We didn't feel welcome and met struggle with asking for some stuff. Staff there were having fun together and I know it's ok in work environment but customers are needing help. Food is different from the last time we visited there. The amount is less and quality is not good as before. I ate just a bit and couldn't stand anymore. And then, we didn't ask about paying yet, but they came and gave us the receipt as if they wanted us to leave asap. They also almost forgot one dish that we ordered and I had to remind them about that (it's not busy at that time) And the worst scenario is the TIP: this is the very first time I had a BAD experience there. So I knew I tipped a quite small amount comparing to the money I had to pay for the lunch. Becaue I wasn't not satisfied with the hospitality and the dishes there so I decided to tip that much. There're nothing tip requirement on the receipt that we must tip 10%,15% or 20%. Doesn't that mean we can tip whatever we want or even no tip because of each one's experiences? So after I wrote the tip, the lady waitress came to us and talked out loud that I paid that amount for the dinner but how could I tip like that? And honestly she made me ashamed before my family. I didn't want them to know about the price of lunch so she "destroyed my plan", and she could use another way to remind me more politely like "Can you look at your tip again?" or sthing like that. I felt so bad and never came back again. I don't know what am I wrong? I never seen any restaurant ask for more tip like that. Once again, this lady waitress's attitude was unpolitely at this situation. I couldn't get it and didn't want to eat...
Read moreFirst of all, I want to say Bep Siagon is the “b e s t” Pan Asian restaurant I have “ever” been to. They are clean, efficient, accommodating & caring. Bep is by FAR better than any other Asian restaurant in the vicinity…….”or” the world.
My most favorite meal is the broccoli w/ brown sauce. (U can add tofu) Their broccoli is “”always”” fresh (“never” frozen & expertly sautéed). Actually, “all” their dishes are w o r l d class outstanding. The only thing I wish they would change is their pricing. They are “extremely” expensive. But I was thinking if “more” people “went” there, they could afford to charge less for their food. B/c look……it doesn’t matter if you’re wealthy. Rich people just don’t like feeling like they’re being ripped off. They just don’t. Wealthy people manage their $ very well. They “know” where they shouldn’t spend their $.
Broccoli (my favorite meal, there) has just as much nutrition as any “meat” “”&”“ prevents” numerous diseases…….especially “cancer”.
ONE more thing. If you go there for their delicious food, PLEASE order plant based. B/c I guarantee you the animals don’t want to be slaughtered & end up on your dinner plate.
If you’re plant based, order the dinner portion. You get more food & don’t have to worry about not eating the non vegan side dishes that come with it.
Soooooo go to Bep Saigon as many times as...
