We came for tom Schwartz brunch event and the host and Manager were horrible to us! We went in and were told it would be a wait about an hour and a half and we could go to the bar but couldn’t order any food only drinks (it was 2pm and we hadn’t eaten anything cuz we were expecting to eat there). I saw 2 people get sat and was wondering why that was the case if we had to wait and those 2 people were sat after we had already been told there would be a wait. We go up to them and ask if they had more people or if it was just them two, they told us it was just them two! So we go up to the host (had pink hair) and asked why they sat them and not us (it was only us 2) the host then begins to say well I’m just following my managers orders , the Manager comes up (Asian dude) and we tell him the situation and he goes “well it’s up to our descretion to choose who we sit” I told him I’m sorry but that comes off pretty racist considering everyone they chose to sit were white! We told him we haven’t ate anything at all , he then tells us we could go to a table but it’s only standing but we could order food there so I said okk that’s fine! The waiter then took more than 20 minutes to help us, someone who was also standing had to stop them and ask “who’s our server” she then lies and says “oh I’m not sure , let me go find out for you” then comes back and says “well I’ll just help yall” but it was clear she was our server from the beginning cuz she would avoid eye contact every time we tried to get her attention. This place might be great when there’s no event but my first experience with them was...
Read moreA Bull of a Time at Bull and Bowl, Austin!
I ventured into Bull and Bowl on 6th Street, Austin, expecting a regular night out, but oh boy, was I in for a wild ride – literally and figuratively!
First off, their Old Fashioned is like a hug from a wise, whiskey-loving grandpa – strong, comforting, and with a hint of "I've seen things." Sipping on this masterpiece, I felt my inner Don Draper awaken, minus the existential crisis.
Then came the breakfast burrito. This isn't just a breakfast burrito; it's a culinary rollercoaster wrapped in a tortilla. It's like they captured the essence of every happy morning and stuffed it in there. I half expected a rooster to pop out and crow.
Now, the main event – riding the mechanical bull. Picture this: me, a full belly, tipsy on grandpa's hug, deciding I'm now a cowboy. Spoiler: I'm not. I lasted about as long on that bull as my New Year's resolutions – brief but memorable. The bull must've sensed my false cowboy confidence because it tossed me like a salad.
And sports? This place is serious about it. You can watch the game on their screens while nursing your bruised ego (and possibly backside) post-bull ride. It's the perfect blend of sports intensity and mechanical bull-induced humility.
In conclusion, Bull and Bowl is where you go to have a breakfast burrito with a side of life choices, an Old Fashioned that narrates its own noir film, and a bull ride that reminds you gravity is not just a suggestion. No bull, just an epic night out. 10/10, would get thrown...
Read moreWell, we visited as a pretty good sized group and had a mix of experiences. I enjoyed my food and had a great time. Others on my team had a different experience. I ultimately went with 4 stars weighted by my time there more than what I’m sure others would claim is a 2-3 star.
To start, we tried a few drinks. Everyone enjoyed a mix of their cocktails. We tried the Left Hand Free, Old Fashioned, Espresso Martini, The Ladybird, and King Pin Kicker. Everyone said they enjoyed their drinks.
Then we had a few starters including the fries, wings, and cornbread. I really enjoyed the cornbread! The wings are a mild spicy and the fries pretty straightforward.
On the entrees, this is where we had a pretty big mix of opinion. Especially around the salmon dish. Some people enjoyed it, others thought it was too oily and not enough rice. I didn’t have it so it’s hard for me to say. The presentation was good but that’s all I can personally comment on. I had the Texas Rodeo Burger which was delicious and messy! But that’s what I expect with a big burger like that so I loved it.
We didn’t try dessert but in general, hard to go wrong with a cast iron skillet cookie.
For the bull riding and bowling, we had a fun time! We didn’t know going into it that it is mini-bowling though. So if you come expecting a full bowling lane, you will be disappointed.
Overall, if you choose to visit, I hope you enjoy and I hope this helps a...
