Burger King — Restaurant in Austin

Sometimes it’s alright, no problems. Nothing wonderful but decent for fast food. There have been times it wasn’t. REALLY MY LAST EXPERIENCE was one of the worst times I may have ever had at a fast food restaurant.

I ordered on the app and it’s a super simple order, which most of the time they’ve gotten first time. I got one Impossible Whopper with cheese. That’s all. There was a kid there at the window that I’d never seen before. I get the food, say thank you, and leave to home. When I get there (luckily I don’t live too far) the burger is a bacon cheeseburger (I realized after I took a bite). I’d shrug off a slightly wrong order if I wasn’t vegetarian. So…obviously I paid and was hungry so I go back. He looked SO confused when I said it was a bacon cheeseburger. He said “you ordered bacon…” No…I showed him the order on the app on my phone. Still confused. “Bacon?” No. I said the Impossible Whopper with cheese. He went “only vegetables?” I said, “well, yes…and the Impossible patty.” He still just stared at me blankly with a half-smile. He didn’t even seem to know what was on the menu? I said, “there are two patties…one is meat, one is the Impossible patty. I’m vegetarian so I don’t eat meat. No bacon or beef patty.” He went “okay.” And I got the new burger. He wanted me to check and I quickly did and it seemed okay. I pulled around to the parking lot and bit into it again. Hiding under the veggies, mixed in with the cheese- bacon again. I had been nice this entire time (still was, but frustrated. This was already so much time spent on one BK burger). I pulled BACK around and was like, “sorry man…this DOES still have bacon on it…I’m vegetarian, I said no meat, I just want what I ordered. One Impossible Whopper with cheese. That’s all. No added bacon. No meat.” He blankly stared again. And it was another back-and-forth conversation saying all of the same things with him being befuddled. Then the lady who was making the food was in sight looking annoyed. I was feeling bad, but also just hungry and also annoyed. I said “no bacon. No beef. Vegetarian patty with cheese.” He told me to pull around to the parking lot. He brought it to me and I checked it out. It was right but it seemed odd with not much flavor....

Its quite unfortunate when the staff is so miserable and unprofessional, that when they mess up your order, they try to blame it on you for ordering the wrong item. The woman who took my order , Maria, walked up, said have you been helped while scouring at me, I said no I havent. She follows that up with well what do you want , while continuing to frown and act like she hates having to take my order. By the time I got my food , my chicken sandwich was like a luke warm piece of cardboard, that seemed like it had been sitting in a steamer since breakfast time. And then, the burger they gave me wasnt even the one I ordered. So naturally instead of saying oh Im sorry, let me get you the correct burger. She just said that I need to remember what I ordered , and shes right Im wrong. The complete opposite of polite customer service. They continued to be ugly with me as I asked for my money back . At that point I said I needed the district managers phone number, because they need to be aware of how people are being treated there, and also of the poor quality of the food. Ive called this number that I was given, and in all honesty , Im not sure its even a valid number. It just rings and rings, then goes to a voice-mail box that is full. Seems suspect. All in all , its one of the worst experiences Ive ever had at a fast food restaurant. And Ive also never felt so disrespected by someone taking my food order in my entire life. I will find the district manager of this Burger King and let them know how bad , in general, this location is currently. For now though, I would avoid this location at all costs...

The stock food is OK. It's Burger King, you can't expect much. It's good and cheap. That's not my issue though. My issue and the reason for this 2 star review was the poor poor staff.

Yesterday, my SO and I were there eating. During this time, this older man went up to the desk and started complaining about how his burger was cold. OK, that seems like a legit reason to complain. Granted, he took a couple bites before going up to complain. I will admit, this gentleman was slightly aggravated during his approach but let me tell you, that aggravation escalated QUICKLY when the clerk AND the manager started cussing this guy out. No joke cussing him out and had a full on argument in the restaurant. I could even hear one of these ladies throwing stuff around in the kitchen during the argument. The poor trainee at the cash register looked scared and kept apologizing to the man and begged her managers to stop yelling.

Very unprofessional. They obviously hate their jobs and the sketchy people they have to frequently encounter as it is riverside, but c'mon. You can't just start cussing out every person that crosses you. All you could've done is replaced the burger and leave it at that, but that's none of my nevermind.
