Dame Café — Restaurant in Austin

Maybe this place is just worse with delivery but I was not impressed. There's no way this is ceremonial matcha and it's not cool that they advertise it as such. It's doesn't taste fresh whisked either. I requested extra matcha and it was still bland and tasted like milk with a hint of matcha. Bad color and underwhelming taste. Plus I'm pretty certain the matcha made me sick. Not sure if it was because of it being premixed/old or something but I tried it a day apart and felt the same sickness come back that I felt the first time. I thought it was something else/coincidence but I doubt that would happen twice in a row... As for the coffee, I didn't find it to be unique or anything to rave about. It's very average. I got "shaken espresso" and "abuelita". Wasn't a fan of the shaken espresso. The abuelita was quite good though, the sauce makes it a great mocha. That's the only one I'd recommend. I also got that drink hot so maybe their drinks are better hot. I also requested that marshmallow fluff everyone is raving about but didn't receive it on either drinks. Their prices are definitely unique (in a good way)! I can appreciate their fair prices, as that's pretty rare in Austin.

I think this place is a little overhyped but I would come here just because it's cheaper and decent. Not for their matcha though. I would've given them 3 stars but I have to give 2 for the false advertising and missing the requests +...

Coffee is delicious! Service was BAD! I ordered online at 10:15 my order was supposed to be ready by 10:34. I get there and the line was long but I went to the window and asked if they could add the marshmallow fluff (there’s no option to do that online) she said they could but they hadn’t even started making my order. Instead they proceeded to make the orders of everyone else that was there but mine 😂.

I did add a kids hot chocolate to my order which she said would only take 5 minutes. It didn’t of course. I was there for over half an hour even after ordering ahead of time.

I heard of this place online and realized its close to my job so I was determined to get a coffee here. Upon arrival in the food truck court the only truck with a line. The line went as fast as any other coffee shop. I stepped aside and ordered food from a neighboring truck and came back to order my coffee so I can stand in line while I wait for my food. They were out of their marshmallow fluff. So I orded the abuelitas latte in a 16oz hot. It was very good. I got my food and drink at the same time so I definitely recommend if the coffee line is long order your food next door so both items will comenout at the same time.
