I just want to start off by saying how formidable the staff was this evening, at D&B and more specifically, James and Carrie! My three year old son and I go there almost every Wednesday evening as one of our routine date nights. Added incentive is Wednesday's are half price game nights at D&B!
I am not one to write a review on an establishment, unless the service was really really horrific, or really really sensational! Well, the service that James, the GM and the overall vibe from all of the crew there today, was above and beyond incredible and that is what has me writing this review, only a mere hour to leaving Dave & Busters!
My toddler and I love to make our rounds to his favorite arcade games; Mario Cart, anything "car-related", and of course the virtual Bowling lanes (because I look like a rockstar on the virtual lanes and sub par on the "real" bowling lanes)! Unfortunately, when I swiped my card on both of the bowling lanes, the machine did not dispense the bowling ball, on only one of the lanes. However, as soon as I went to find a manager and James was so attentive and almost sensed that I needed assistance. He approached me, before I could even get to where he was (that's some on-point customer service)! I told him the situation and without hesitation said, "I'll take care of you" and immensely apologized for the inconvenience. Of course, it wasn't a big deal, in my perspective, but he took this minimal issue and handled it as if it held the highest precedence! He offered for my son and I to play free games on the bowling machine, or any other game that we wanted. I explained that my toddler was starting to have "Big Emotions", so we needed to head home and if he could just put the credits for the one game that I was unable to play, back on my Power Card. James obliged and not only did he put the initial credits which I wasn't able to successfully play back on the card, he added a few more credits; because he is the type to go "above and beyond" what is expected of him!
To add just a little more apprise to these two individuals; James and Carrie, I mentioned to James that my son won a bunch of tickets the other day, on one of our date nights at D&B and that he chose this really nifty "mini" ring light, that clips on to your phone. I have to say, this light is worth choosing as your prize, if you have the chance! Anyway, I proceeded to tell James that the light abruptly stopped working, but I had left the light in my car and could bring it in, for him to see and see that it was still in mint condition. He didn't skip a beat and said, "bring it in and I'll replace light, no problem". My son and I went out to my SUV to retrieve the light and when we made our way back to the back, where you pick out your prizes for tokens earned, James already picked out the replacement light and was standing there, waiting for us to come back in!
Again, the reason that I write such an extensive review this evening, is because I rarely write reviews, unless I want to give admonition to ANY Google reviewers, that need to be made aware of an establishment. Or, if a place is absolutely thriving with AMAZING Customer Service and those employees need to be given immense recognition! Well, my reason for writing this review is the latter and our experience that my son and I had this evening, is "review worthy" and KUDOS to a great crew this evening! Whomever is doing the hiring at the D&B in Southpark Meadows, "GREAT JOB on picking out your staff and team"! The meticulous thought you seem to have given, when deciding who is going to represent your establishment, definitely shows and we need more of James and...
Read moreTL;DR: awesome staff & mgmt, Tim is the MAN, good reward perks, clean facilities, great game selection, great food
I really can’t speak highly enough of this place. As a grown woman without kids, I never thought I’d start visiting a Dave & Busters on a weekly basis, but my partner and I have made this one of our go-to date nights.
What really sets this location apart is the staff. They are wonderful. After only two or three visits, Tim was greeting us by name at the bar and had our usual orders memorized. With everything that working at an arcade must entail, we definitely were not expecting that level of attention. Between consistently great service and fun conversation, we are always thrilled to see him when we walk through the door.
A couple of friends joined us for my partner’s birthday and our server, Riley, absolutely blew us away with her service. She really went out of her way to make sure that we were having a great time and saw that we were making the best use of the promotions available. Her enthusiasm was genuinely infectious.
Since we go so frequently, we make full use of the D&B rewards program. Something I really appreciate is the patience all of the staff has with the sometimes complicated transactions we have as we navigate using our rewards efficiently. Tim has helped us many times with our various meal promotions, and the managers we’ve met (Eric and Aaron) have always come through to help if there’s any confusion. On the very, very rare occasion that there has been some sort of error with anything we’ve experienced during our visits, they will go above and beyond to make things right.
The individuals working at the prize area and technicians have also always been lovely to us. When we’ve had games malfunction, the techs have always been really prompt and happy to help out. I wish I could remember his name, but the taller guy with the curly brown hair has come through clutch for us several times. The young woman that works at the prize stand also helped us redeem a high ticket item (Nintendo Switch!) very late one evening, which we very much appreciated. Other shout outs go to Scott and Carrie :)
This location is definitely smaller than others, but they make up for this with atmosphere and high quality game selection. The food is really good, especially for a chain company. We usually are happy splitting an appetizer and an entree between the two of us. Bathrooms are clean, game floor is always spotless, and we’ve never encountered anyone that has been overserved or otherwise disrespectful.
All in all, awesome experience. I don’t leave a ton of reviews, but this is one of those places where I just had to share how much fun we...
Read moreWell I can say that the appetizers here were pretty good. It's what you would imagine one of the nine levels of hell from Dante's inferno to be like. Super loud with screaming kids that is a mixture of joy, and anger. There are some real good life lessons about taking turns and being a good sport here that could be utilized pretty classically, but really most folks are just hoping to get out of there within an hour so they don't have to spend another three hundred dollars on the Oriental trading company b/s they are giving out as prizes. This particular visit we entered the building as a party of five. The hostess was alright, she lead us to a dirty table that she cleaned haphazardly. We sat down and then ..BEN...our server was nice enough, I never met the man but as he took our drink and appetizer order it seemed like he might be intoxicated, or maybe needing time to continue his buzz lest he fall asleep from exhaustion or genuine distaste for the public..I don't blame him I wouldn't dare try to waitress in hell for any kind of monetary gains. He took our order for drinks and appetizers..he came back a while later and took them again.. we got our drinks and our starters which were all very tasty. While delivering the fried cheese pickles and quesadillas he took our order for dinner. We eat for 15-20 minutes the kids decide while waiting they are going to play a few games. I watch Ben talk to the people in the booth in front of us forever to the point where I decided he must want to ride home with them cause he has finally found his forever home. They are having a rousing game of 20 questions when he decides he better go check on the rest of his section.. when it's our turn to speak to him the kids had come back because they were hungry and expected their orders to be there. Unfortunately Ben starts questioning what we asked for and we know"bless his heart" that he didn't turn in the order.. we politely tell him he sucks..then go out to play the games which are typical of a place such as...
