The shining star of Tacos and queso in the Austin area, Dos Batos encapsulates the word smoke, bottles it up and packs it into the savory tacos they have been serving since 2010.

The single location located in the Walmart parking lot, has been consistent 100% of the time regarding their northern Mexico style food. starting off with some Queso or elote sets up the payoff of the tacos. The Pirata, a carne asada/steak, cheese and avocado Taco is my favorite and showing is the premium version. Triple the size of a regular.

Vegetarian Don't worry, there is some options for you like the Ostin. If smoke is too much for you, you can ask for a non-smoky version which would include pastor brisket and carnitas as well as some other options. Oh, and there's plenty of salads for you herbivores. Make anything a combo and they can accommodate most allergy restrictions.

With the addition of happy hour and micheladas, you're now able to enjoy some adult ravages with your meals. Please drink responsibly

I have been going to Dos Batos since they first opened and the food has always been consistently fresh and good. They even have excellent micheladas. I just wish they had outdoor seating. The reason why I am just now writing a review is because my job ordered a huge meal from them this week through a food delivery service. Not only did they get every single thing correct which NEVER EVER happens with any big order from other restaurants... they labeled everything individually making it easy to find our orders and they provided lots of chips and red salsa as well as some of their super spicy green sauce. We were so pleased we ordered from them again the next day. I'm soooo happy they survived this pandemic. I hope they succeed enough to purchase a building with a patio soon :)I also love that they have an open kitchen and you get to watch them grill that delicious meat! Just editing this review benatar Google won't let you put in two reviews on a place. This place NEVER disappoints. I've gotten so many coworkers addicted to this place. Customer service is great too! Best beef fajita...

Awesome spot to grab some great tacos and tortas.

All of their tortillas are hand made in front of you, and they are very good. Their chicken and steak are wood grilled, and the chicken has a nice slight char to it. Their taco menu is pretty simple, it's basically veggie, beef, chicken, or a combination of meat and veggies hybrid all topped with some sliced avocado and cheese. I really enjoy their hybrid tacos, and their charro beans are great. Their tortas are also pretty good and filling. It's not truly traditional Mexican tacos, but it's pretty close. I would say it's a slightly modern Mexican style taco because the fajita flavor and texture parallels what I've had in street tacos. They also have a lower carb cheese tortilla that seems interesting, but I have not personally tried it.

The interior is simple and open with a colorful mural, and the staff has always been very kind.

I will say, the tacos are pretty pricey, but 2 will fill you up well.

Definitely recommend grabbing some tacos here for lunch or dinner, it's...

I wouldn't consider this place as authentic Mexican. Their Tortas are extremely expensive for what they offer. $10+ per Torta for lettuce, tomatoes, some sauce and not much meat. They put this in between two huge bread buns to make it seem large. I tried the PolloQueso torta and there was not much meat, take a look at the photo. I'm not even sure the chicken was cooked with wood like they also claim. My grandmother cooked with charcoal a lot and it smelled exactly like the meats she cooked with charcoal. My husband and I first learned about this place from a friend, solely for their low carb tacos, the Loco Taco. Regular corn tortilla tacos are over $5, more than Torchy's Tacos. DB tacos weren't even flavorful. I think if I ever return to Dos Batos I will stick with the low carb option, because everything else is super expensive for no reason. Just because they advertise USDA Steak does not mean anything. There are many other establishments that have much better quality meats.
