Austin Food Adventure - Halal Bros

We ordered everything available on the menu which is vegetarian. So falafel wrap, falafel rice bowl and loaded French fries. Requested extra white sauce and red sauce because they are great and enhances taste. Food was delicious. Falafels were crispy from outside and soft from inside. Pita bread was so soft and very tasty. And we loved the wrap. Food was very hot and so fresh. And the food quality is huge. We ordered two dishes and one side and two of us were able to use the left overs for two more times. So portion size per dish is great. We will definitely come here again for food but mostly for take out as parking situation is so messy. Only few parking spots available which are always occupied. There’s in n out right beside this but due to traffic it’s difficult to take reverse and go to in n out and again if we are not going to in n out then we can’t park there. Always a risk. And once you’re in the other parking lot you have to go and take u turn to come back to halal bros. More over to enter in parking lot at halal bros is all together while task. The uneven curbs and the pot holes and don’t know where the road ends and curb starts - it’s messy and difficult and don’t want to damage my car. Anyways, my parking rant ends here. 5 starts for food and customer service and negative -5 stars for parking situation. Checkout the photos for parking and food.

Cons: the place is very easy to miss. It's a small shop on the side of the road with parking for about 5 cars. It took about 20 minutes for our to go order to be ready (they weren't very busy when we came in.) They partially messed up our order. Pros: Cheap, friendly, fantastic flavor. We ordered the combination over rice plate, 2 chicken shawarma sandwiches, 2 falaffel sandwiches, and I ordered a chicken shawerma plate and added lamb shawerma (for an extra $3.50.) The falaffel was delicious, the chicken shawarma was also delicious, and the combination was ABSOLUTELY fantastic. The rice, oh my god, it has so much flavor. I've never had rice that has this much flavor. The only real issue I had was the dish with extra meat. I ordered a chicken shawarma plate and added lamb, but what I got instead was a beef shawarma over rice and a chicken and beef shawarma over rice. I have no idea why that is, and I was disappointed because I really wanted to try the lamb. I also didn't really like the beef shawerma. It tasted good, but it was somewhat dry and tough. The sauce was good, but it tasted like ranch to me. I will ABSOLUTELY be back here when I visit Austin again. Oh and for those who were wondering, the meal came out to be $40. We had a couple orders that were left untouchd because we were so full.

I use to be a Halal guys fan. I use to go there very often, as I LOVE their rice. However, I had an experience there 30 minutes ago that I will not forget and will NEVER go there again. I went there for lunch- ordered my food at 11:50. I waited and waited- finally got my food at 12:16. I was famished and dove right into my food- but didn't dive far. I found a long blonde hair in my food. I quickly got up to show the cook and the cashier girl. The cashier argued with my that what I had found was NOT a hair- HA!- She said it was from "the rice". I took the hair and bent it in front of her, showing her that the hair had SPLIT ends... And that it was INDEED a hair. She rudely told me that they would make me another one- and I was annoyed because I wasn't going to have time to eat, as I needed to return back to work.

However, this is not the first hair I have found while dining here. A few weeks ago I ordered the falafel over rice and found another hair sticking out of the falafel. I literally picked up the falafel by the hair and took it over to the cook who was rude as well. However, I continued to go there because I do like the food, I just decided to more closely look at my food when dining there. But, this seems to be a reoccurring issue and therefore do not wish to give them my business.

In conclusion, the cooks do not wear hair nets and do not handle the food with gloves. This place is unsanitary and has poor customer service. I will no longer be visiting this restaurant and hope that they take the necessary measures to meet heath and...

I come here once a week to pick up some chicken over rice, nothing too fancy. This food item is great, no food prep, already made and just needs to be put together with rice and some salad. Whenever I go, I ask for Chicken over rice, easy on the rice, and extra chicken on the side. Just to be sure I ask the cashier if she understood what I ordered. I did the same thing today and as expected, my order took 10 minutes, which is not long, but it is when a group of guys that came after me get the same thing and get it before me... Then when I do actually get my food once I've reminded them, they give me no chicken on the side because I never told to cook to do so. WHAT???? I have to inform the whole freaking staff of my order??? The cook explained via the bagger that he had placed the "extra" chicken in the single container with the rest of the food. I accepted my experience and left. BUT guess what, the so called "extra" $3.49 worth of chicken is apparently the same as a regular amount of chicken.

The food is good, but the service is trash. No customer relationship goals or anything. No smiles, or I'll fix that for you, nada. It's really simple to get a customer to come over and over, but some people just don't get it.

This is not an isolated incident, it has happened before, but today was just the last straw. The place has great food, but if you expect customer service with a cherry on top,...
