WARNING: my rating is ACTUALLY 10 out of 10, but Google Maps is silly and only lets me rate 5 out of 5 like a wimp who's unsure if he actually had fun or not. There's no question, I had fun. 10 out of 10.
This is one of Austin's many well known towers. My friends and I recently discovered it on a whim and it was a total blast! A real joy ride. I literally can't recommend it enough, it's so tall -- that's something they don't tell you up front. I wish they were more upfront, but what can you do?
Anyway, Austin has many great clock towers, if you're putting together a tour of them, I'd suggest fitting this one in too. If you have the time. This is one of the only clock towers with the correct time though, so if you don't have a cell phone or wrist watch, I'd recommend planning out your tour schedule to be around this tower during the part of the tour when you'd actually need to tell the time. You don't want to lose track of time LOL! But really, get a watch if that's a problem JK ROFL!!
Honestly, my biggest knock against this tower is there's no place super close to get frozen daiquiris to-go to quench that inevitable thirst you'll work up from looking up so long -- it's SO tall!! So DEFINITELY bring any and all items you'd need to create your mixed drink of choice if you're hitting up this particular tower. I will warn you though, I am NOT a lawyer so don't consider this LEGAL advice. I would recommend consulting your personal family lawyer on retainer before engaging in any and all activities that may or may not be illegal -- you're paying for the hours anyways, might as well use 'em LOL ROFL!
Full disclosure, directly after hitting this tower up, I went to another one just a stone's throw from frozen daiquiris to-go, so I personally was able to dodge this legally dubious situation! I just pray to God that you are so lucky or, that your personal family lawyer on retainer says you're in the clear to sip on an ice cold, delicious bevy on the tower footsteps! Trust me, that's paradise. But again, this cannot be inferred, construed, assumed, or offered as legal advice of any kind. Plus, I am pretty busy with friends right now, so I am unavailable to be a witness or advisor in any legal proceedings or actions that may be taken against you from following anything that you inferred, construed or assumed what legal advice when in actuality, it was NONE of those things. So again, I do recommend consulting your personal family lawyer on retainer prior to going to this tower for any purpose or length of time whatsoever.
So this tower was a roller coaster of emotions for sure, but just all the good ones -- love, fear (of having too much of a good time), joy, sadness (that you haven't had this much fun in your life until now), peace, anger (that you haven't come here earlier), excitement, etc! 10 out of 10 would recommend (even though if that breaks Google Maps algorithm for some reason!).
Lastly, I cannot emphasize enough, I am not a lawyer and this is not...
Read moreThe University Of Texas At Austin is one of the top public universities in the world. Because UT has over 50,000 students, it's 100% possible for anyone to find their fit in the many clubs and organizations that the school has. Let's face it, you most likely already know about UT and the other top schools in the state of Texas and you're just reading this randomly.
For the 1% who is reading this review in a hope to learn something about UT, I'd highly recommend speaking with the UT counselors, and even scheduling a free tour of the campus. Also, you could reach out to UT, UT Sports, the UT President, or the UT Austin Tower on social media and talk to them - they are answering questions and are constantly interacting with people that are interested in UT Austin!
Last but not least, if you're really thinking about attending UT Austin, be sure to check out a football game - they're unbelievably fun and you'll really get the feel for our Longhorn school...
