First off, I want to say the staff here were absolutely wonderful so sweet and helpful, I have no complaints about the employees at all 💕. What really concerned me though were the safety measures (or lack thereof). There was no security presence, no bag checks, and no metal detectors. As an avid concert-goer, this was the first venue I’ve ever been to where neither I nor the people around me were checked upon entry. That made me feel very unsafe, especially since I was here for a band known for mosh pits.
Unfortunately, the crowd also felt out of control at times. There were people being openly disrespectful, and at one point someone shoved me, grabbed something off my body, and threw it into the crowd on purpose. It left me feeling shaken and disappointed.
The venue itself is on the smaller side which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but I really wish the security and crowd management had been handled better. Read moreI was devastated when Barracuda closed down, but when I saw the announcement that this was to be it's spiritual successor, I was stoked beyond belief. I loved Barracuda for hosting a variety of genres with a big focus on local music. It was very no-frills and let's the music speak for itself; that same ethos is seen here. There's a lot of seating outside, including an outdoor stage. Sound is fantastic. Despite the sweltering heat, it's very cool inside.
