I ordered 2 rolls of photos from here: one color and one black and white. The color came out great with a quick turnaround time (I got them the same day). This was very refreshing since most film places take a couple of weeks. However, when it came to my black and white photos, they came back stained, with finger prints, and as if they had been crinkled. I emailed Mr. Johnson back asking him what could have accounted for this on my photos. He told me he'd reach out to Eastside Silver Print because they are the ones who developed my photos. I waited a couple of weeks and never received another email. I emailed Mr. Johnson again and asked if there was any update on what resulted in the photos looking like this and he has not returned my email and it has been 2 weeks. So first I was extremely disappointed since my black and white photos were of my brothers wedding and very important to me. Now, I am so disheartened by the lack of explanation, contact, or way to make up the situation. Also, it was never indicated on their website or in-person that the black and white photos would not be developed by them so I wanted to explain that to any one planning to develop black and white. I have attached a few black and white photos and color photos for reference. If you are developing color photos, Lago Vista will do a great job and have a quick turnaround 100%! Read moreOver the past few years I have frequented this business as it was a small business and the guy seemed friendly. I recently had a few rolls of film developed. I think my total was somewhere around $185 and I even told the guy to keep the $15 change. I come back later that day and see that they closed a few minutes early and I had a flight to catch the next day. I figured the prints would be in good hands. I guess I didn’t see the fine print that they throw away your photos if they aren’t picked up in 2 weeks. I think this policy is a little unfair and would have appreciated a phone call. It’s sad that they threw away such great memories and didn’t think it was worth the time to give me a phone call. When I spoke on the phone to the owner he not only didn’t seem apologetic but it almost seemed like he enjoyed the little power trip and felt no guilt at all. Maybe others will have a different experience but there are other places that don’t have this policy...
Read moreI have had a really interesting experience with this lab in the last 2 months. I am a full time film wedding photographer and decided to make the change from a big name lab to this local one, and have sent in multiple orders, large ones too. The staff here doesn't say hello when I come in to drop off, it's just business as usual asking the usual prompts about how I want my film scanned. I guess I thought it would feel more friendly/local.... I was really hoping for a more personable experience since I am now working with a local lab and giving them large orders. I don't need the red carpet thrown out, but maybe just remembering my name would be nice or asking how I like the scans.....or even a greeting...
