The Mansion (TFWC) — Attraction in Austin

The parking is a serious problem. I missed a concert at The Mansion because I couldn't find parking. Along with my ticket, I was emailed a link to a crude map to their parking garage, which is several blocks away from the building itself. There's no clear signage on the garage and it's surrounded by street parking and apartment building parking lots—on a busy Friday night, in the dark, it's confusing. The Mansion had a sign in front directing people to the garage, but that's useless. There's a long line of traffic leading up to it and people getting dropped off/picked up—it's no place to read directions on a sign while you're trying to drive. Why wasn't there at least an attendant out there directing people verbally, or handing out maps? There really should have been a specific address given for the garage so we could GPS it. I can't follow maps and look for obscure entrances in the middle of traffic. It looks like a great venue, but the parking situation is amateur at best. A first-class facility should have a...

This is a beautiful venue but we are beyond disappointed. To say they ruined our reception is an understatement. I have been holding off on writing this review because of how devastated and upset I am. The contract states that there would be someone to let us in the building for the event but on the day there was no one there. We were stuck outside while the event coordinator took over an hour to come let us in. Instead of having 2 and a half hours, we only had less than an hour and a half to set up and get ready. We were late to enter our reception and our guest were left waiting and bored. We were so stressed and overwhelmed, that we couldn't enjoy the day that we worked so hard on. We had the venue booked for over a year and it was completely ruined due to their incompetence. We were promised a refund but still have yet to receive any news on how this has been handled. Ever since I was 8 years old, I knew I wanted to have my wedding reception at The Mansion! I fell in love with this beautiful place the moment I stepped through the door, and I had told my (now) husband that having our reception here was a must! If you're looking for an elegant, affordable place, look no further! This place is the epitome of class! We received so many compliments on how gorgeous our venue was, and everyone loved strolling through the entire mansion throughout the night. Mari was very professional, and answered to all of my questions and requests. She made the process extremely simple, and made our stress that much less. I felt like Cinderella that entire night, and if I had to do it all over again, this place would still be IT!
