My wife and I recently moved to Austin and absolutely love the city. Great food and great people - one of the friendliest places I’ve lived. I feel the same way about the folks at this church - the people here are amazingly friendly.
Their current building isn’t fancy. It's located across the street from the cemetery so it's quiet and peaceful. They keep it clean but it isn’t the Ritz or anything. I’m told they are moving into a new place on Guadalupe across the street from UT soon which will be more convenient and centrally located.
Here’s my personal experience: My wife and I were recently pregnant (well my wife was pregnant, not me but you get the point) so we decided to take the “Having a Happy Baby” course they offer. I didn’t have to mortgage the house or anything. It was $50 for me and $50 for the wifey - so $100 in total (that included the workbook). The information made a lot of sense to me. Stuff like “make sure you’re eating nutritious foods while pregnant, getting enough rest, etc.” It suggested not taking harmful drugs while you're pregnant - a no brainer. One of the concepts I really liked had to do with physical pain. The idea is that physical pain to an expectant mother can not only be physically harmful to a fetus but can also be emotionally and mentally harmful to the baby in the future - this was a fascinating concept and changed the way we approached the rest of our pregnancy. The course also provided ways to keep your baby happy when they get upset, which I’ve used many times. In fact, I used it yesterday and it worked like a charm.
Our little guy is the happiest baby. He’s always smiling, giggling, talking (in his own way), etc. When he gets upset, we have some great tools to cheer him up and get him out of his funk. From my standpoint, the info we learned on this course far outweighs the $100 we spent. No doubt I’ve spent WAY MORE on other baby stuff that wasn't even half as useful.
They have many courses there. As I haven’t done them all, I can’t give a review for all of them. But they have courses that address money, getting motivated, organization, business, achieving your goals, increasing confidence, etc. And I plan to do all of them.
If you're looking for useful information that can help make your life easier, I recommend going in and...
Read moreI first found out about this place when I was just out of college years ago.
I asked questions and talked to a very kind staff member here, and then checked it out for myself. I got a copy of the book Dianetics, and saw immediately that there were practical explanations to the way people thought and acted and -- most importantly -- what could be done to improve oneself and help others to do the same. I had studied psychology, philosophy and sociology at a world-renowned university for years. But none of them had any real lasting answers. This book did.
That led me on an incredible life path and an early career where I got the opportunity to travel all over North America and help others dozens of times over using the tools and know-how that I acquired from Dianetics as well as Scientology books and courses. And that was real joy -- knowing others have been helped and their lives improved and that I could actually help others when they needed it.
Years and years later, this building has been renovated into a stunning new facility now perfectly equipped to help those who are smart and able, who want to find out more, and who really want to help...
Read moreI moved to the Austin area three years ago, and one of the most memorable experiences I had was visiting this Scientology Organization. From the moment I walked in, I was deeply moved by the warmth and genuine care of the staff and people taking services. They made us feel truly welcome, and over time, I’ve seen them extend that same kindness to so many others. Their dedication goes far beyond what’s expected—they are always there, helping, supporting, and making a difference. It’s truly inspiring to see.
Beyond their beautiful building, what truly stands out is the impact Scientology has had on my life and my family. It has been an incredible source of strength and guidance. Through Scientology, I was able to help my mother through the unimaginable pain of losing two children. With its technology, my brother overcame drug addiction. Thanks to the study methods I learned, I successfully homeschooled my son—and he made it into an Ivy League school. My marriage has thrived for 34 wonderful years, and we are still going strong. And the list of ways Scientology has enriched our lives goes on.
For all of this, I am...
