I really wanted to like this place, and I really wish I would have read the reviews, because there were so many red flags, but I was hungry and just ordered food. I have a feeling I'm going to be paying for that decision later. Let's start... Egg rolls. They had such an odd taste, but after reading the reviews (after I ate half of one) I think they were rancid. The aftertaste was something awful. And the duck sauce or fish sauce that came with it. Oh boy! It smelled awful. Completely unappetizing. I really thought I stepped in something. Crab Rangoons, they were OK. The jelly red sauce threw me off, but it was OK. I hope I don't regret eating them. The Mongolian beef. Um... It was so weird. When I opened the container, there was so much broth, with carrots, celery, mushrooms, and I don't know what else, I thought it was a soup. So much oil I've only seen Mongolian beef in a thicker sauce, like a glaze, so this was weird and not good. I got fried rice with it, at least that's what I ordered. This rice was yellow and had no flavor. And lastly, the one thing you wouldn't think a restaurant would mess up, but they did: edamame. They had ZERO seasoning. This was the biggest waste of money and I would never recommend this place to anyone. I would have been fine if one portion of what I ordered had something wrong with it, but it was EVERYTHING! It's so awful, I'm not even saving the leftovers because I honestly don't trust it, especially after reading the reviews. Lesson learned. I will never blindly order again without reading...
Read moreDon't trust anyone else's review. Kim Phung used to be one of the top Austin Vietnamese restaurants but have gone way down. The food quality is horrible and why is that? Its because they run 4-5 different restaurants out of this one location! If you look online you will see that this location is also going by Vietnamese Vibes, Chinese yum yum , Thai Thai Thai, and Blazin bamboo just to name a few! This is way the quality is so bad they are just making horrible generic food nothing is authentic here anymore. How can you be a Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai place all wrapped in one? They do not care about their food quality almost everything is frozen all they want is your money. Do yourself and your taste buds a favor by going to another...
Read moreActually less than the 1star, Worst experience ever, Have been going to Kim Phung for many years, north Lamar, Cedar Park, never had a complaint. This place, how the have the kim phung name is beyond me, food was cold, we ordered, spring rolls and to identical vermicelli dishes and they only brought out 1, there was plenty of seating, cause no one was there. Will absolutely never go to this place again and would recommend to anyone not go either. Had known, would have driven up to original location on N Lamar and received what was expected...
