This place was recommended over the original location for mainly a larger beer selection. Parking is challenging and street only. Fair enough this is Austin. We sat at the far left of bar and waited. And waited some more. Mind you, there were no less than three bartenders (using that term lightly here) moving about. I asked the kind ladies to the right to hold our seats whilst we ordered beer as if we were going outside. We ordered two pints beer, the cup of Posole and plantain chips(in house or bag?-made in house was the response). I drank the 40 days and nights, my woman had the lightning wolf. My beer was good but hesitate to call it a west coast IPA. The gods of stone brewing would agree with me. This was more like an American IPA. The wolf was adequate. I mentioned to the “bartender” we were sitting on the end of the bar and no one acknowledged us. She didn’t really care and walked on. This is Austin so maybe it is part of the weirdness. The food arrived at our seats . The posole was excellent; not salty as some places can be and the chips perfect. I would prefer a tiny bit of extra onion and chopped jalapeño to add but this isn’t a restaurant. This was good food and reasonably priced. The plantains were NOTtasty. They were grossly over seasoned with that Tajin powder. It could have been cardboard pieces and would not have mattered. There was no plantain taste. I think my lips were even stained by the tajin. I LOVED the sign “no dogs allowed” before the tap room and shocked it was in Austin. Too many people think they can take an animal anywhere these days. The outside area was adequate for people. There was also an upstairs section...

Extremely Disappointed — Won’t Be Returning

I’ve never felt more unwelcome at a place I once enjoyed. I was at Lazarus with a group of girlfriends — we’re regulars — just having coffee and catching up. One of my friends had her two-year-old with her and brought a small snack for the child. What happened next was beyond rude and completely unnecessary.

A young waitress with black hair came to deliver our order. She slammed our items down carelessly and immediately snapped at my friend, saying “No outside food allowed” in a harsh, condescending tone. My friend respectfully began putting it away, but the waitress doubled down and barked “Put it away NOW.” Even after my friend explained it was for her toddler, the waitress continued to treat her with a shockingly rude attitude.

I asked to speak to whoever was in charge and was directed to someone named Denis. He claimed to have “already handled it,” but the waitress returned and smirked at us — no apology, no accountability, nothing to indicate even a hint of customer service.

What happened to hospitality? To treating loyal patrons — or any patrons — with basic respect? This place used to feel like a community spot, but after being treated like a nuisance, we’re questioning whether we’ll ever return.

If you value kindness, professionalism, or even just basic decency, you may want to rethink visiting. There are too many great spots around to tolerate this kind...

I ordered the Mexican Fried Rice with Pico, Poblano, egg and roasted corn. It was the worst rice I've ever tasted-tasted like burnt sesame oil. The rice was slightly under cooked and the corn was dry. It was a large serving. I didn't want to waste my money or the rice so I took all of it home and rinsed it with water in my kitchen sink and lots of orange brownish oil slid off. It tasted much better afterwards so I added my own fried eggs. I got four meals out of it so it made me very happy. The staff was friendly. It's a good hang out place and great for meeting friends there. The coffee was very good. I'll return and try something else on the menu and even order the rice to go. With all the spicy food on the menu a mild tasting rice would be a great addition for balance. Also, my sister came with me and ordered the chicken enchiladas and she liked them. She...

Went here on a weekday to work and hang out . Great ambiance and lots of plus points compared to the one in 6th street. Tons of space and great food ! They had good working WiFi and even live music on a weekday! We tried the green apple cider which was pretty refreshing and all the food was great except the enchiladas - the Al pastor and vegetarian tacos were amazing ! And the shrimp appetizer was too good and so fresh and cooked to perfection . The enchiladas were a bit bland and very average but not bad compared to a few other places we ve had . The only downside was the parking condition as we didn’t have much spots to park but you can always park on the street or the stores nearby if you are staying just for a few hours . Overall, an amazing hangout place for both weekdays or weekends with good food, WiFi and booze which is all that we need :)

Excellent beer! Lazarus, a very cool, somewhat industrial looking, hip brewery + coffee shop. This is not your typical trust fund kids brewery. We're only maybe one or two beers are good. Everything here is top notch. The Brewers really know what they're doing. It's not a far walk from where I live and it's located in the former location of 'I ❤️ video,' a local Austin treasure, as Lazarus is becoming as well. The first beer I had here was their 7% alcohol IPA, called 40 Days and 40 nights, $7.50 draught (2025), up from $6.50 (early 2024). Incredibly delightful. Love it. Very well balanced as most (all) of their beers are. Beauty and balance on your taste buds is one of their brewers focus' and they are successful. Will definitely be back. +1

Second location of Austin’s best brewery. Beautiful new space. Staff is friendly, tons of seating indoor and outdoor. There’s even a back “casita” with additional seating and a second bar. Love their pilsners and 40 Days IPA, but they’ve always got a couple rotating seasonal beers that keep things even more interesting. This location has an expanded food menu — highly recommend the enchiladas, chilaquiles (pictured here), and tacos in a bag (Doritos + carnitas). Parking is limited so rideshare and carpooling recommended. This location has more families and kids than the downtown spot. Oh, and coffee program and wifi are also great for your remote work needs. I come here to work remotely all the time.
