I ate at Taqueria Guadalajara at the recommendation of a coworker. I have to say I was a bit disappointed with my overall experience. I ordered the beef fajitas and some guacamole for the table. The guacamole, while generous in portion, was mediocre at best. It also came out cold (not room temperature, refrigerator COLD) which makes me think it’s made in large batches and kept in the fridge until serving. I don’t personally care when it was made, but both the flavor and temperature made it very unappetizing. The fajitas also had a generous portion for a single serving. The pros stop there however. The beef came out shredded which I was personally not a fan of. Part of the fun of fajitas for me is being able to take a solid bite into a large strip of meat. The flavor of the beef itself was also just okay. The best thing about the beef fajitas for me was probably the rice that came with it. Overall I was pretty disappointed with my experience at Taqueria Guadalajara. While the portions were generous this was definitely an example of where quality beats quantity. If anyone has any other dish recommendations I’d be potentially willing to give this restaurant another shot because the inside was decently full for a weekday lunch.

I had the pleasure of dining at Los Braseros Mexican Restaurant in Austin, Texas, and it was an exceptional experience. The staff welcomed us warmly and served complimentary nachos with three varieties of flavorful sauces to start the meal—a delightful surprise and a great way to set the tone for the evening. For the main course, I ordered a dish that was both visually appealing and delicious. The vibrant flavors of the cheesy enchiladas, perfectly sautéed mushrooms, and well-seasoned Mexican rice combined beautifully on the plate. The refried beans were creamy and rich, providing a comforting balance to the bold flavors. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, making it an ideal spot for enjoying authentic Mexican cuisine. Every element of the experience, from the service to the quality of the food, exceeded my expectations. If you’re in Austin and craving some amazing Mexican food, I highly recommend giving Los Braseros a visit. I will definitely be back to try more dishes from the menu!

Enjoyed our dinner here very much. The Molcajete was so delicious, especially loved all the sauce/veggie/meat mixture bubbling in the bottom, amazing taste… but the shrimp / camarones on top were super as well. I’d drive a long way for their Molcajete (as it was, we travelled from Tacoma, WA). Everything else we tried was good, my wife liked her menudo very well, pitcher of margaritas was okay to good, nothing special. Service was good except there was a bit too long a wait for 2nd batch of free chips, had to chase down and request on an only semi busy day. There was a 5-8 minute wait for a table despite visible open tables (maybe reservations?). Staff seemed nice, bar looked cool. There was no mariachi band mid-afternoon on Sunday. Wanted to give 4.5 stars but loved the Molcajeteso much, it overcame the minor stuff, so I give 5 stars. We’ll definitely come back here some day. Note there are some old photos posted herein showing a former name of this restaurant.

I really enjoyed the food and my experience at this restaurant.

When we first arrived, we thought the huge wall decoration on the exterior at the front of the restaurant was rather odd and gaudy. However, because of it, I assumed that the interior and the dinner would be a unique experience. My assumption was correct and I was not disappointed.

The interior and atmosphere was very colorful. It seemed that every single chair at all of the tables had a different scene hand-painted on it. I could tell that much effort had been put into the atmosphere of the restaurant and I liked it.

Because the menu was expansive (there were so many dishes that had scrumptious descriptions), it took me a long time to decide what I wanted. My server was very patient with me. Thank goodness.

I finally decided on the Chicken Burrito Ranchero, but instead of Ranchero sauce, I wanted mole. My server indicated that this substitution would not be a problem. My husband ordered a chicken quesadilla, which is the normal dish that he gets from any Mexican restaurant.

Our food was absolutely delectable, and the portion sizes were huge. We had to force ourselves to stop eating so that we would not have that “miserable full” feeling that occurs when we just eat everything at dinner. I had enough leftovers for two meals, and my husband had enough leftovers for one meal.

Everything about this restaurant makes me want to return here. Also, they offer live music on certain nights. As we were leaving (this was a Wednesday night) the Karaoke Jockey was starting to set up. I only wish we could have stayed to stay enjoy those festivities.

Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, the food, and the promise of live entertainment on...

I have been to this place a bunch of times with my husband and we have an okay experience usually. (If you like cold food with a long wait than this place is for you.) Tonight we had the worst experience. We came in right before the dinner rush and we ordered our plates. It took them 38 minutes to bring us our plates to the table which is normal for this place especially since its cinco de mayo. What made us so frustrated was that our food was very cold as if it was sitting on the counter in the kitchen for 38 minutes. I sent my plate back to be warmed up. The kitchen staff put the food on another cold plate like it would make a difference in temperature. My food was never heated. It took them 5 minutes to bring me back the same cold food. I don’t think they know how to warm up food here. The menu has a lot of options but maybe that is the problem here. 🤔 Every time I order a carne asada it comes back hot. So why is it when I order fish I get cold food? I'm curious if y'all run across the street and order it somewhere else just to serve it as an option. This restaurant needs to make some changes. For 1 you need an actual manager present at all times because the guy you sent to my table was not a manager. He couldn't communicate well in español and English. Tip number 2 cut down the options on your menu because your cooks can't get the food out the kitchen fast enough for it to stay warm. My husband and I are not planning to return...

I don't usually leave reviews but I feel like this needs to be told. So 2 years ago on April, my mom and I went to eat this place. I got fish my mom got tacos. After a few hours I began to feel nauseous and my stomach hurted, next day I threw up a lot. I go to the hospital because I was dehydrated. I believe the food was the reason I ended up in the hospital. Yesterday my mom went to eat with a friend here. She got scrambled eggs with cactus, after a few hours she said she began to feel nauseous and pain in her stomach. She goes to work then comes back after 5 hours saying she doesn't feel good, she threw up a lot and had a terrible fever. She was showing the same symptoms that I had 2 years ago. I asked her where she ate and she tells me "El taqueria" I tell her if it was the one at Lamar and she said yes. We went to the hospital because the next day she still had a fever and couldn't stop throwing up. She's doing ok now which I'm glad. Honestly everytime I look at the place I feel sick and nauseous.

I know this is long but I just want to warn people to check their food, if it looks funny, tastes funny, smells funny, or you feel like something is wrong with your food, don't eat. Do not think that it won't hurt you because it will. I guess we both got unlucky with our food. Wish y'all luck if you do get...
