Nothing Bundt Cakes — Restaurant in Austin

Although I love Nothing Bundt Cakes' cakes, I'd like to take a moment to review this franchise location specifically. The staff here are incredibly warm and go above and beyond to support their customers. They open at 11a on Sundays-- After I told them that my son's birthday party started at 11, they offered to let us pick up our cakes at 10:30 (30 mins before opening). The manager told me she'd first ask the staff set to open if they'd be up for my early pickup, and that if they weren't, she'd come in herself. I later asked to change my cake flavors, and the staff member I spoke with over the phone was patient, descriptive, and incredibly helpful. She was also incredibly cheerful, which made the interaction even more pleasant.

*As an aside, this treatment is not standard for all franchises, as they're independently owned and operated. I've visited another NBC location in Austin, and the staff is consistently dismissive and unhelpful. (This includes asking me if I "could just order online instead," when I came in to place an order 5 mins before they closed.)

My rating is based on the customer service. I order an 8" lemon bundt cake on Friday April 25th for delivery on the store website. When ordering for delivery it asked to pick a time block. I chose time block 6:30pm-7pm. I get a text saying that the cake I ordered was ready and waiting to be picked up at 7 pm. The destination from the store to drop off is about 20 mins at the most. My cake didn't arrive til 7:28. I called the store and was told that I should have ordered on Uber eats because the store delivery system is 30 minutes slower than Uber eats. Now how was I supposed to know that. I spoke to the manager and asked why the cake was late and she stated it was picked up late and did I want a refund. I stated yes and she told me since it was the day of delivery she would have to do the refund the next day. She took my information and started she would call me the next morning. I waited on her call on Saturday morning and never received it. So I called the store around 4pm and was told that the manager left for the day. So I call again today and was told she is not there. I made an order for delivery from this location to celebrate a coworker. The delivery was provided by Uber, and about 20 minutes before my delivery window I got a notification that Uber was trying to locate a new driver. After about 30 minutes of that status, I called the location, who confirmed the order was ready but not picked up. Once I hit the end of my delivery window, I called back and asked them to cancel the order, since it would not arrive in time. Sadly my coworker had to leave, but I was very surprised to get another notification that my order was on the way! I definitely got refunded, but Nothing Bundt Cakes sent it anyway. Even though it was about an hour late, I really appreciate them...
