Went there for lunch today! Thought this place was DELICIOUS. I ordered the pork banh mi and wonton soup and I finished both. The pork on the banh mi was super flavorful and had a char that almost made it seem like it was cooked over a charcoal grill. So good. The bread and veggies on the banh mi were excellent as well. The wonton soup was also SO yummy. The broth was flavorful and light, and the wontons had (I think) a shrimp and pork filling. Service was nice. It was very hands off, which worked well since it’s a small restaurant. It was slow enough when we went that if I needed anything, I could just look at one of the servers and they would come right over. My boyfriend got one of the rice plates, which he thought was very tasty, but he didn’t think the portion was big enough for his appetite. He had a bite of my sandwich, ended up finishing his sliced pork and rice plate, was still hungry, and then we ordered another banh mi for him. He finished that too! One thing to note: their prices have gone up. I looked at old reviews and saw the banh mi used to be $6.50, and it’s now $7.99. The wonton soup was $5.75, and I think it used to be around $3. Not a big deal, just something I noticed. So yummy, would recommend. And here’s a photo of the delicious wonton soup!

This is my go-to spot for pho. I used to always order the N20 (pho ga, aka chicken pho) until I tried the N7 (pho chin nam, aka pho with well-done brisket and flank). I appreciate and enjoy both, but the beef broth is incomparable. It’s more aromatic and has a richer taste. Some may say that their chicken pho lacks flavor; I think it’s great for when I want something simple and light if I’m feeling under the weather or when I don’t want to upset my stomach. But the brisket and flank pho is on another level. I’ve only ever gotten my food to-go, and it has always tasted delicious. They give you a ziplock bag with a generous amount of bean sprouts, Thai basil leaves, two jalapeño slices, a lemon wedge, and a small container of hoisin and sriracha sauce. I like that they have small and large bowl size options. Other places only offer a standard size that is way too much food for me, and while normally I’d be happy to have leftovers, pho never tastes the same the next day. But Pho Van’s small size always leaves me feeling full and happy.

I have been living in the Middle East and perhaps because this was the first pho that I've had for several years, I found it to be extraordinarily delicious. I had the chicken soup with noodles and used all of the herbs and sprouts they brought to me. While the food was good, the staff communicated an attitude of indifference to me. Perhaps they've become hardened over the years and don't care about customer relations as much as they used to. It just seemed like they were only occasionally pretending to be friendly, at best, and at worst somewhat contemptuous.

We've been eating here for 9 years and I'm ashamed that I am just now writing a review for this fabulous place. This is Pho real! Luckily we can walk here, but we have trekked far and wide throughout Austin sampling pho and vermacelli bowls and this one just can't be beat. If you are looking for atmosphere, this is not your place. If you are looking for an affordable, nutritious and tasty meal, this is your place. Portions are huge and the price for most everything is $8 or less. I tend to get the grilled tofu vermacelli bowl. Yeah, tofu. I don't know what they do to it, but it could almost turn me back into a vegetarian. (Fish sauce is not vegan just an fyi for the newbies)I also like to get the grilled beef and egg roll vermecelli bowl when I'm craving meat.

The pho is delicious and I tend to steer towards beef (catch the pun). Luckily, my husband usually orders this and shares a bowl with our daughter and I so that I can horde my vermicelli jealously in the corner and have the best of both worlds. But the pho will heal what ails you in the winter months and if your toddler is not a soup person, well that's about to change.

Take out is super speedy, east-in is super speedy unless the place is packed then it is pretty darn respectable. Our waitress always gives us a hug. We left our daughters sippy cup once and they saved it for the next time we would be back.

There is a hipster place next door Rament Tatsu-Ya. It's decent, but not worth an hour wait. If you are standing in line there hungry look over yonder towards Pho Van. Got get your meal, look out the window at the suckers still in line and laugh at their foolishness. You just saved an hour, some big money and you won't leave with a...

Been coming to Pho Van for many years now this is my families go to place. Today we chose to eat at Pho Van like any other, I do have to say the food quality has gone down drastically. The broth has become flavorless, there's less and less meat in the bowl. Order the beef sandwich and the meat is just always overcooked now. Service has never been their stronger but today was the worst, we were seated in the far corner which is great because we come with little once's that are to make noice. We were not seated for more than 5 minutes when the old lady ( owner) told us to calm our little one with such a frustrated face because a customer complained mind you our little is nonverbal with Autism who finds confront is making sounds, We've come to this place many times and never once's had we received this treatment before, we always spend more than $100 +tip we also try to come early when there's a lot less people. We've won't be back to this location they're not kid friendly. If you want to have a good time with your kids while enjoying a good savory Pho you're better off going to.
