I first stumbled upon SLO by accident, as I had an unplanned meeting near the store.
As soon as I walked in, I was in love!
I am an energy person -- meaning, if a restaurant/area doesn't have a good vibe, I cannot enjoy the entire experience, no matter how good the food is -- so when I was in the store, I felt amazing -- the moss wall with crystal, the giant crystal out front, to the neon LOVE sign -- I knew I was in the right place.
And then I found out about the owner's backstory, and as a fellow sober bro, I knew my dollars were well spent.
The crew was great, the acai bowl was incredible, and I'll continue to make it my go-to spot whenever I'm in SoCo (which is not often enough!).
Some may have a bit of sticker shock, however, I say that we 100% get what we pay for, and I do not know of any other establishment that serves these products that puts as much heart and soul into their offerings, so I don't see my purchase as serving myself as much as it is allowing me to be connected to a community of LIFE.
My only "constructive feedback" would be the presentation on the bowls hasn't always been as consistently pretty as the store, but I only think that bc I'm an aesthetic diva, and no one else would probably even notice.
Moral of the...

SunLife Organics caught our eyes because of their amethyst chair and their unique smoothie menu. We decided to try it, but man were their prices steep. We had to wait a bit to order and for our smoothie to be made. They intentionally do not offer wifi since they encourage being present in the moment. Also, you'll need a code to use the bathroom as well.
My husband had to be bougie and got their most expensive smoothie - the Billionaire Dollar ($33). It's made of Young Thai coconut meat, spinach, raw cashew butter, colostrum, chlorophyll, aloe vera, collagen, green superfoods blend, silica, grass-fed whey protein isolate, spirulina, MCT oil, mushroom blend (chaga, reishi, cordyceps, shiitake, maitake, turkey tail, agaricus, meshima, tremella and lion's mane), tocos (rice bran solubles), hemp milk. The smoothie has a vibrant green color and a very thick consistency. It definitely tasted like it was packed with nutrients, but wasn't bad flavor-wise.
We also got the Plant People WonderCalm Super Mushroom Gummies ($33.95) to try. They're summer peach flavored and tasted like regular gummies. They're suppose to promote calmness, relaxation, and a good mood. We only tried it once so I'm not 100% sure on the...
Read moreI've been here 3 times. Each time has been a disappointment. From flavor to health to service. All are very subpar. Their clientele need to raise their standards. This isn't it.
Their smoothies and bowls are not great tasting. Maybe 1 in 10 is good. The menu is like a textbook without key information like protein and calories; and if you look at the ingredients closely, they are high calories and fat ingredients. Not as healthy as it seems and not organized in a way that makes it simple to find something that you will like or again. There are plenty of very average or below average items on the menu. Like little land mines to avoid. If you choose to customize, the staff is not trained on how to balance the new item in the bowl. I asked for raw oats in a bowl and more than half the bowl was just raw oats and a 1/4 the smoothie part and berries of the bowl. I don't know how they thought that was okay for a $25 breakfast bowl. As everyone knows, they are overpriced. They are also very slow in service, which is surprising considering the price you are paying.
Overall, I wanted to like this place, but just can't. I'm going back to juiceland where things are easy...
