After dinner at J Carver's, we decided to pop into The Betty, which is conveniently right across the street. Around 11pm, it wasn't too busy—no lines, and they let us right in. The interior is stunning—rich floral wallpaper, crystal chandeliers with vintage lampshades, and plush velvet accents create an intimate, speakeasy-inspired atmosphere. It's the kind of sophisticated cocktail lounge you might find in any cosmopolitan city, but with design touches that make it distinctly Austin. There's an impressive bar that anchors the space, with well-designed seating areas throughout. I only explored the main area and noticed the patio seating outside, though yesterday was a bit too warm for outdoor drinks. Our bartender was cool and accommodating. Even though they had stopped serving from the drink menu at 11, she made an exception and crafted one of their signature drinks "Joshua Tree" for my wife—a mezcal cocktail where she lights up rosemary sprigs before pouring, creating a neat visual effect. I kept it simple with a tequila soda. One important heads-up: they automatically add 20% to all bills. Since this is what I normally tip anyway, I almost double-tipped before noticing it on the receipt. Also worth noting, the exit isn't where you enter, which isn't very intuitive—you have to leave through the patio. I'd heard this was initially a guest-list-only establishment, but you can actually just walk right in. Pretty cool spot that I'd like to visit again when we're actually planning a night of drinks.

I'm a regular at the Betty - it's my go-to bar for a reason. I love the atmosphere, and the typical DJs that perform there. (I hate the club/crunk type music, I prefer EDM; DJs do a great job with keeping it chill and slowly ramping it up to a party later in the night). I love the staff, Ana, Tay, Lucy, Michael, Laurel, Will. In fact, one of the bartenders here dabbled in creating her own concotion that is a drink i can only get here. So I always have to go to Lucy for my drink. (I'm actually trying to challenge each of them to come up with their own signature drink). Michael - I wanna see what you got ;) The bad: Prices - I remember getting charged for $4 for an ice cube on top of the mixed drink. There's one bartender, who I will not name, asks for tips (even though gratuity is already included on the bill...which is a little classless but they are young so I ignore it). With a few exceptions, the bottle girls always seem angry - they all are absolute bombshells.. don't know why they seem so stressed and angry. Either way, I always recommend the Betty - I've explored Austin and seem to always enjoy my night best at the Betty.

I heard through social media that the Betty does “Steak Nights” on Thursdays so came to check it out! Some things to note and review: 1) there is a dress code, so make sure you aren’t coming in flip flops and a t-shirt (shorts are allowed for guys but need to be accompanied with a collared shirt) 2) there is live music frequently being played which made for a great atmosphere! 3) there is only a few “Large” table set ups inside, so know that going in that this is truly a bar/cocktail lounge 4) the staff were very friendly and helpful! 5) STEAK NIGHT: so it isn’t advertised on their website so here’s the scoop. Since they are not technically licensed to serve food, they use a 3rd party vendor. You go to the outside patio to order and pay directly there. Then when your food is ready they will come bring it to you! Honestly it was one of the better steaks I’ve had in Austin and reasonably priced too! There were 3 options the night I went and I got the Ribeye which comes with smashed potatoes and asparagus, with a price point of $45! - I’d come back again especially for steak night!

The Betty is undoubtedly the most beautiful bar and cocktail lounge I've ever visited. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with an ambiance that is both luxurious and inviting. The attention to detail in the decorations is impeccable, creating an atmosphere that feels both elegant and comfortable.

One of the standout features of The Betty is the staff. It's rare to find such a consistently amazing team in the hospitality industry, but The Betty has managed to do just that. Every interaction with the staff, from the bartenders to the bottle girls, is a pleasant experience. They are not only efficient and skilled but also genuinely friendly and personable. This level of service truly sets The Betty apart. Halee, Rylee, Taylor, Tristan, Jules, Jasmine, and Goose are always there putting in the extra effort to make sure the Betty is welcoming, clean, and running smoothly all with a smile!

The drinks at The Betty are in a league of their own. The bartenders craft each cocktail with precision and care, resulting in top-tier beverages that are both visually stunning and delicious. Despite the complexity of some drinks, the bartenders work with impressive speed, ensuring that you never have to wait long for your next round. Shout out to Vinny, Schyler, Emily, Tobey, and Fasa for always making sure your drinks are perfect and fast.

Management at The Betty deserves special mention as well. They are constantly on the move, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that every guest is having a great time. Their hustle and dedication to providing an exceptional experience do not go unnoticed. Shout out to Wally, Davin, Cote, and Crich!

The security team at The Betty takes their job seriously, ensuring that everyone feels safe while maintaining a high-energy atmosphere. Special shout out to J, Warren, Keys, Dez, Brolee, Jason, Lin, and Tyson for their dedication and professionalism in keeping the vibes high and the environment secure.

The clientele at The Betty is another highlight. The people I've met here are not only successful but also incredibly friendly and open. It's a place where conversations flow easily, and you can genuinely get to know the people around you.

A unique aspect of The Betty is its dress code. To maintain the elegant atmosphere, men are expected to avoid open shoes, shorts, and hats. Dressing to impress is encouraged, as it adds to the special nature of the place. It's refreshing to have a change in scenery and an opportunity to dress up. This dress code contributes to making The Betty a perfect spot for date night.

In summary, The Betty in Austin, Texas, is a gem of a bar and cocktail lounge. With its stunning decor, outstanding staff, exceptional drinks, and friendly atmosphere, it offers an experience that is truly second to none. Just be respectful of the rules and the people, and it will quickly become your favorite spot in all of Austin. If I could rank it 100...

I made a reservation online thought I would check it out. Thinking maybe this would be a place to bring my luxury clients. I showed up with my boss and told the hostess I had a reservation, she looked at me like I was crazy and told us to sit anywhere. We sat and waited about 20 min before anyone acknowledged us. The waitress came over took our order, I ordered a glass of champagne and my boss ordered a French 75 I finished my glass before he got his drink we were both like did she forget? When she finally came around mins later we asked about steak night since we saw an advertisement for it. She said I would go get it but I’m busy with other tables. It was 7 it wasn’t busy two tables were occupied and it was a Thursday. It looked like the steak was being catered and they were serving it outside from aluminum foil. We asked to close out our tab by this time we waited we didn’t see her and didn’t know where she went so we went up to the bar and asked for our tab. Finally she came back around at the bar didn’t ask if everything was ok simply ignored us and left it to another colleague to deal with us. Nothing was going on it wasn’t busy we walked out the hostess looked like she didn’t want to be there we said bye and she didn’t look up from her phone. We went to Prélude and had a more luxurious, friendly experience and worth the price. This place they ask for a dress code and we were dressed up and people were in shorts at the bar. Nothing about this place was great and definitely not suggesting my clients to this place when they come to Austin. I’ll suggest other elevated place with class that isn’t about hiring pretty girls that have no clue as to what they are doing. I was so embarrassed bringing my boss to show him this is could be a potential place to bring clients who want to have a experience when they visit Austin. BIG NO You can thank...

I am sharing this account based on my personal experience at The Betty, a venue located in Austin, Texas. Upon entering the establishment, I was wearing a rare Rolex timepiece. After departing, I discovered that the watch was no longer in my possession. Surveillance footage confirms that I was wearing the watch upon arrival and that it was no longer visible on my wrist when I departed.

A formal report was promptly filed with local law enforcement, and the matter remains unresolved.

In addition, I have been contacted by an independent third party who claims to have direct knowledge of the events surrounding the incident. This individual alleged that I may have been deliberately targeted over the course of several evenings as part of what they characterized as a highly coordinated theft operation. While I cannot independently verify the accuracy of that account, I believe it is relevant to disclose the existence of this claim in the context of my experience.

For clarity, I am not asserting that The Betty, its ownership, or any of its employees were involved in or had knowledge of the incident. I have no evidence indicating any wrongdoing on the part of the establishment or its staff. My sole intent is to present the facts as I currently understand them, based on documentation and my direct experience.

As a general caution, I would advise individuals wearing high-value items such as watches or jewelry to exercise vigilance in any crowded nightlife setting, including this one.

This statement reflects my personal experience and opinions. I share it in the hope that it may assist others in making informed and...
