This was my very 1st visit to the U.T. Club. I am a member of the Baylor Club, and I must truly admit the dinner at the U.T Club is so much better than my club.
However, the Baylor Club does have a much better window view looking over the stadium, and their decor is more upscaled. The window view at the U.T. Club overlooks a parking garage and the decor is old but a good old-fashioned Texas feel.
But the food!!! Oh my, I can't wait to drive back!! For starters, my husband and I were served an anti-pasta on skewers. A first for me. Not bad. The bread was served piping hot!
Next was the 3 crab cakes about an inch in diameter. Awesome apetitzer! Then came the Cranberry Pecan Salad tossed with so many pecans and cranberries! The greens were lightly coated and not drowned in dressing.
My entree was the Herb Grilled Chicken Fettuccini. The chicken was very tender, great grilled taste and the roasted red peppers were delicious!! By this point, I could barely get a bite out of my strawberry cake.
I did order the South Padre cocktail. I am a sweet drink girl, and this drink was a little tart/sour. Not a drink I would order again.
But before I end this review, I must give a 5 star rating to our waiter named Cesar!! He was on point and gave us top-notched service. His mannerisms were friendliness, courteous, thoughtful, kind, and he knew the quality of the food on the menu. Make sure you ask for Cesar as...
Read moreI am going to write this as openly and honestly as possible. The UT Club used to be one of my favorite places to go. I joined in May 2021, and was a member through closure in May 2024. The way the club was abruptly closed and remodeled was...jarring. I decided to give the club another try last month, and could not believe how much had changed, and not for the better. The atmosphere, and most importantly the people, which I loved are no longer there. The choice in decor was strange - bright white like a hospital on the inside. The front desk was vacant. No clear idea if happy hours and the famous Wednesday wing night would come back. And most importantly, things felt...disorganized. A private club is supposed to be a place you go to where things feel normal and civilized, and consistent. This club is now anything but consistent.
Its not what it used to be. Maybe it becomes something great - we will see next football season - but for now, what I loved about this...
Read moreWe recently hosted a 100-person luncheon at The University of Texas Club, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The venue was beautifully presented and offered the perfect setting for our Speaker Series event. The entire team was a pleasure to work with—professional, attentive, and committed to making the event special. I want to give a special thank you to Kianna Silva, whose coordination and support made everything seamless. She anticipated needs before they came up, was responsive to every request, and ensured the entire program ran smoothly. We’re grateful to the UT Club for helping create a memorable afternoon for our guests. I fully endorse Kianna and the Club for any gatherings, whether business luncheons, social gatherings, or game...
