THE BEST DAY EVER!! My husband and I began our journey in merriment at this venue in the fall of 2019. We are both long time employees of the University of Texas and this venue was just the right place to capture a part of our lives that means a lot to us. There are not enough words to describe how amazing our experience was with Lauri Taylor our even manager who was working with us through the whole experience. Even when we decided to postpone our wedding and gained another event manager for a short time we were still overjoyed with the service and care we received no matter what. Not only was this venue the full package with the ballrooms, courtyard, decor, food and beverage, but also included the hotel aspect for our guest all under one roof. Our wedding day was spectacular and beautiful to say the least. Lauri, her team, and the various hotel staff took care of us and our guest very well all weekend until the very end. We could not express how much fun we had as well. I could go on and on about how much I would recommend this establishment for events and lodging but there isn't nearly enough time. :) For now I thank the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center for everything you did in making our wedding THE BEST DAY...
Read moreMy husband and I are Texas Exes and the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center couldn't have been more perfect for our wedding. Coming back to campus after years away truly felt like a homecoming for my family and friends.
We originally had the wedding scheduled for April 2021 and moved it to August 2021 due to COVID-19. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful when it came to shifting our wedding to the new date. They went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of.
We were the first couple to get married in the pre-function space outside of the Zlotnik ballroom and then had our reception in the Grand Ballroom. It couldn't have been more perfect. Our guests loved having the entire wedding in one place and it was perfect for our large families full of kids. The food was unlike any hotel food I’ve ever had. It was amazing!
My husband and I walked out to sparklers in front of the tower and took a pedicab at the end of the night to the fountain where our wedding party met us and we all jumped in. We rode back to the hotel in the pedicab and stayed in the rooftop suite overlooking the capitol and tower.
Lauri, Cynthia and the rest of the staff are incredible. I couldn't have asked for a...
Read moreWhile the hotel itself is nice (entry foyer is stunning, and conveniently located on the campus of UT)… it is nothing special. The hotel only has 3 onsite restaurants—one is a kiosk only for coffee and pastries open mornings; one is closed on Sunday and Monday; the third is a glorified bar (with no bar stools) with a limited menu that may seat about 50 crowded people. The option for in-room dining is that you call to this restaurant and order a take out meal and go pick it up yourself to eat out of a bag. Not what I would expect from a high end hotel that hosts large numbers of people for conferences. Leaving the hotel to walk anywhere after dark is dangerous as there is a homeless population that has a history of causing problems for the guests of this hotel.
The individual rooms were ok. Other than the provided bathrobe, the room is no better appointed than a Hilton or Marriott. I guess I expected to be wowed since the rating of this hotel is so high.
On the positive side, the front desk clerks were super friendly and helpful, as were the valets.
Overall, for the cost of this hotel, lack of amenities, and disappointing appointments, we will...
