I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience with The Vegan Nom food truck in Austin, a culinary gem that has become a staple in my travel plans. Every time I'm in Austin, I make it a point to visit this amazing truck, and I've never been disappointed. The Vegan Nom's menu is a love letter to vegan cuisine, with a wide variety of options that cater to all tastes and dietary needs. From classic comfort food to innovative and creative dishes, every item on the menu is a masterpiece. I've had the pleasure of trying everything on the menu, and I can confidently say that every single dish is a 10 out of 5. The food at The Vegan Nom is not only delicious, but also expertly prepared and presented. The owners are clearly passionate about their cuisine, and it shows in every aspect of the truck. From the carefully crafted menu to the impeccable service, every detail is thoughtfully considered to create a truly exceptional dining experience. One of the things that sets The Vegan Nom apart is its commitment to using only the freshest and highest-quality ingredients. The owners are dedicated to sourcing their ingredients from local and sustainable suppliers, and it shows in the flavor and quality of the food. The service at The Vegan Nom is also top-notch. The owners are friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer any questions you may have about the menu. They're also passionate about their cuisine, and it shows in the way they talk about their dishes and ingredients. I've tried many vegan food trucks in my travels, but The Vegan Nom is truly one of the best. The combination of delicious food, expert preparation, and exceptional service makes this truck a must-visit for anyone in Austin. Rating Breakdown: Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Overall: 5/5 Recommendation: If you're a vegan looking for a delicious and authentic dining experience in Austin, look no further than The Vegan Nom food truck. With its expertly prepared food, exceptional service, and commitment to using only the freshest and highest-quality ingredients, this truck is a true gem in the city. Be sure to try everything on the menu - you won't regret it! Tips for Visiting: Get there early, as the lines can get long quickly. Be sure to try the specials of the day, as they're always creative and delicious. Don't be afraid to ask for recommendations - the owners are happy to help. Bring a friend or two, as the portions are generous and perfect for sharing. I hope this review helps, and I look forward to visiting The Vegan Nom again on my next trip to Austin!

Don't waste your time placing an order online—they'll just cancel it. Go order in person or skip it. I have been going to Vegan Nom and Nom Burger for a long while now, but over the last 3 months they have canceled all or part of every single order I have placed (5+). I live ~15 minutes away and it's a huge pain to drive over only to find someone unapologetic and annoyed telling me that they canceled my order without texting, calling, or emailing me. They'll say they closed early or ran out of food or some other excuse, but they never take responsibility and they don't change. -- Original review: If you like places like Torchy’s, Chilantro, Señor Sisig, and similar, but want to support a smaller business run by nice people by eating more delicious, inventive options that happen to be vegan and a touch healthier, stop scrolling and head toward The Vegan Nom. Everything is well executed and balanced (think elevated street food)—no sloppy two-ingredient tacos thrown together carelessly and tossed in foil here.

The food park is nice but that's where it stops. My wife is pregnant and wanted nachos. We got nachos here and they were extremely salty. When my wife asked them about the "salt" all the person said was "it taste fine to me". I approached them about the over salted nachos and the lady said "we don't make it, it may be the queso and it may be a little salty". They didn't want to make the situation right so I threw away all the nachos because we won't eat them which was a waste of food and money. Very frustrated with this experience as it started out nice and was considering to get wings here but won't return to this food park due to service. To top this off, another lady asked politely for a straw and when she left, the 2 workers behind the burger/wing truck said the following when she walked away "we care about the turtles and the planet". I assume they don't care about human beings... I have never witnessed rude staff in my life.

Thanks, Chris. I did throw the basket away because I was livid. And the same lady that told my wife she could not resolve anything with our order which is very contradicting now that you said that staff works to resolve things (even after a generous $10 tip where initially we were happy) - she told me "you can leave a review". So I did just that. Service was trash and we were nothing but nice and was treated with no respect. This was the worse food I have tried in over three years. We used to frequent this place on a weekly basis 3 years ago and thought we would try it again now that we are back in the area.

My recommendation is that staff needs to know that they can offer solutions to issues before patrons become very frustrated and also maybe not tell them to go "write a review" if you are going to poke fun at me for writing a review after leaving.

I appreciate your reply back and am too amicable. As I mentioned on my first post, my wife first asked about why the nachos were so salty and was told "they're not salty to me". With no resolutions, I was upset. I waited about 3-5 minutes to cool down as she is pregnant and trying not to be stressed (this was on our return trip from the Bahamas after having long flight delays and this was the first place we wanted to hit when back in Austin due to prior nastalgia and loving this place). I then approached the truck and asked "why is this so salty". The lady literally said "we don't make it here and it may be a little salty". And again, no resolution, no apology, no nothing. This really upset me as we were polite, and as I said happy to be there and left a $10 tip on $30 order of nachos and whatever food our foreign exchange student from Germany ordered. So, yes, and I already mentioned this prior - I told her this was the worse food I have had in 3 years. She again, did nothing and no apology. Then I said "where's the trash, that's where it belongs". I found it and threw everything in there. At that time, I was unaware the food baskets was not trash, we used to get these in paper like boxes to go frequently when we used to visit weekly. She yelled out of the food truck that they were not trash. I was already upset and at this point did not want to cater to someone who was not willing to help resolve anything and threw my hands up. I was about to grab them prior but heard rude chatter that I shall not repeat that occurred inside the food truck and that is when I threw my hands up out of "giving up on this establishment". This breaks my heart because, during COVID times and post COVID when companies struggled, we pumped, a family of 4, over 100-150$ weekly which is 400-600$ month there at this food truck in food (at that time I believe the nachos were called Jorge or something). So at least on my"story" I agree that I got upset but after having no resolution. If we were so "hostile" then why did we ever leave a tip over 30% before the food came which in reflection was not deserved. So, we ate elsewhere on the way home from being stuck at the airport...

I'm at a complete loss to all these 5 star reviews! Firstly the food we ordered was at best basic, had very little flavour (bland to the max) and took an absolute age! Couple of tacos and 2 portions of nachos took almost an hour to arrive. I only saw one person waiting ahead of me. The service was as poor as I can remember having experienced, regardless of whether it's a truck or not. One word (even one syllable responses) as some items were not available on the menu. Answers were given with the lady giving me her back chopping herbs.... so rude. No conversation on what a good alternative might be or "sorry we are out of that". I guess everyone is aware of the wait times, however being from out of town (the accent would've given away the fact we might not be locals)... there was no indication of the time we might have to wait in the burning sun or apology for waiting almost 60 minutes. Other eateries I have tried in Austin have fans blowing to create some kind of wind movement. We showed no signs of any discontent but the mood of the server showed zero signs of warmth or even being courteous. Heck even when one of their almost empty sauce bottles flew across the yard, I picked it up and put it back on the truck... I got no thanks, even when they saw me pick it up! So awful!

I would ask that any employee from this establishment does not attempt to respond to my above findings with any BS excuses for their wait times (exclusive sourcing of ingredients, individual creations of each dish, exotic use of spices etc etc .... point of note, there was no evidence of creative herbs or spices in any dish we ordered). As for the service there is zero excuse for the attitude. I only stayed as we had visitors from overseas and had no inclination to cause a scene. I most certainly won't be...
