Sunset Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Avalon

I stayed at the Catalina Canyon hotel and the restaurant had the most delicious food. I ate the chilaquiles with an egg for breakfast. Yum was that good. My kids ate chicken and waffles breakfast. They really enjoyed their meals there. I also enjoyed the beef birrea tacos. The birrea consommé was fantastic. I dipped my birrea tacos into the consommé. So good! They have a nicely stocked bar, with nice wines as well. Chicken Parm is tasty, too. The restaurant is right next to the pool on the hotel’s property . Good food and good service. Their coffee is very enjoyable here. I will definitely come here again...

We stayed at Hotel Atwater, and the walk was uphill past the golf course pro shop. We definitely worked up our appetites getting there. Placing our order took quite some time because the bartender had called out sick, so the server was on double duty, slinging cocktails. Well, the food and my Bloody Mary was definitely worth the wait. My Portuguese sausage and poached eggs were delicious. Similarly, my BF raved about his huevos rancheros. I ordered Bloody Marys from three different restaurants while on the island, and this one was my favorite. Best breakfast...

I just ate here and honestly, it was so disappointing, especially for the price. There was zero seasoning on any of the food, not even salt. My friend got the sunset salmon and it was incredibly dry. It came with a side of pasta with absolutely nothing on it. Not even butter. We ordered the Alfredo and the sauce had split and was chunky (and wasn’t even salted). One of us got tacos. They came with just chunks of mediocre, dry beef and nothing else. It didn’t even come with a side of salsa. Even the chips were unsalted,...
